sarea: (prince arthur)
Title: Stranger Things
Author: Sarea Okelani
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Through series 2, to be safe
Pairings/Characters: Arthur/Gwen, Merlin, Morgana, OCs
Author's Notes: I began writing this story before 3.05 "The Crystal Cave" aired, so I feel a bit "Jossed," at least in one respect. If you're unclear but curious about which element or what Jossed means, let me know and I'll enlighten you. :-) The events of this story take place between 2.10 "Sweet Dreams" and 2.11 "The Fires of Idirsholas," and Morgana is still suffering from bad dreams.

Thank you very much to [personal profile] ropo, who brought the Big Red Pen out of retirement to beta this story, [personal profile] akscully, who kept me happy and motivated with GIFts, and [personal profile] adelagia, who won't be reading this story because she's a staunch Merlin/Arthur shipper (you still love me though, right?), but who is the reason I started to watch this show at all. Thanks, all you lovely ladies!

Summary: A woman's secrets are not always her own. )

The next best thing to writing fic myself is making other people write it. That being said, go read this cuuuute D/G drabble that [livejournal.com profile] akscully did! I think it's the first D/G she's ever written (that I am aware of, anyway), but it's like she's been doing it for years!

Comfort food: I'm much more likely to crave comfort food in the wintertime, because it's cold and depressing and if you live in the Pacific Northwest, very wet. All of these are from my childhood, though I wonder if that's the very nature of comfort food -- that it reminds you of being little and feeling safe? I dunno, but I can't think of any foods I started liking as an adult that fits the mold of comfort food. Mine are: )

What are yours??

When did they put an inn in Westfall? New chars should have to travel back and forth from SWC, just like us old schoolers did. Wimps. In that case, they should really put a flight path in Eastvale.

So after that training/work personality indicator thing the other day, I was thinking about all the people I know and what color category I would put them in. That, of course, led to trying to sort characters out into categories, as well. I pretty much decided that Draco was a Red. In some cases, maybe a Red/Blue (like me!), but he definitely has a lot of Red in him. Ginny, on the other hand ... her characterization is a lot more 'free.' She could fit into nearly any color category. And of course, that led me to imagine Red!Draco trying to get it on with one of these Ginnys...

The scenarios. )

I have Gmail account invites (guess Google went nuts today :D), and I'd like to give a few away. Well, maybe "barter" is a more accurate term. <g>

If you don't know what the heck Gmail is, read all about it here. Essentially it's Google's new email service, which is currently in beta. You can only get an account by invitation. My favorite things about it: 1) the 1GB of storage, which means I can do far less deleting (their motto is "Never delete another email message!" but I don't think they quite understand my email volume); 2) it groups conversation threads; 3) it checks for new mail automatically.

Anyway, the first three people to respond to this post with ONE of the following things will receive an invite:

  1. Fan art.

    1. Pairing: Draco/Ginny. Doesn't have to be for a fic of mine or anything, but D/G t00biness in general would be fine. :D

  2. Fic.
    1. One of the following pairings:

      1. Draco/Ginny (HP)

      2. Ginny/Zacharias (HP)

      3. Draco/Cho (HP)

      4. Sydney/Sark (Alias)

      5. Lex/Lana (Smallville)
    2. Minimum word count: 1,500

EDIT: All submissions must be new and your own creation.

I was going to make the word count requirement on the fic fewer, but then I figured it wouldn't be fair to artists. :-S

Schmooches to all of you! :D

Keeping Track of Invitees:

1) [livejournal.com profile] mynuet, who rocks hardcore. Read her awesome D/G ficcage here and shower her with love!!! 1,631 words. *in awe*

2) [livejournal.com profile] obtabius, who has now joined us in the Bad Place and wrote fanfic for the first time. Gotta love Sarkney from Weiss POV! :D Link here.

I am dedicating this story to [livejournal.com profile] mynuet, as it's her birthday today. I wanted to write a fluffy little ficlet for the occasion, but this one kind of mushroomed out of my control. Still fluffy as scrambled eggs, though. Ron POV, R/Hr ... it's nothing like my usual fare. Oh, except for the existence of D/G. <g>

Summary: Sometimes, a married man just has to admit to himself how much he longs for little boys.

Well, not really, but the ordeal of traveling is such that it does actually make me glad to be back, once I am.

Plane fare: $250
Fuel cost to Jade's house: $2.39/gallon
Comfortable flip flops to sprint in: $16.50
Concealing black hat: $0 (borrowed from Jade)
Cell phone to communicate with mid-plan: $40/month
Robbie's face as I pulled up in her stolen car: priceless

Happy birthday to all the lovely people whose birthdays I missed, namely: [livejournal.com profile] lissinthecity (hope your trip is/was fabulous!!), [livejournal.com profile] msscribe, and [livejournal.com profile] mynuet. *HUGS* and belated birthday wishes!!

All about my trip home, including movies I saw, books I read, my new Kate Spade collection, and other random things, including a rant about small children. If you're easily offended, don't read. If you don't want spoilers for things, don't read. I'm warning you this is long. Extremely long. (Said Ginny about Draco's ... pajama bottoms.) )

For [livejournal.com profile] akscully: Ginny/Zacharias, condoms, circle of cheer, beige face. Go nuts! :D:D:D

TMI ex-boss actually did not perpetrate TMI yesterday. He very kindly treated me to lunch at Matts', where we both ordered pan-seared oysters. Yuuum. Only, could the portions have possibly been smaller?! The oysters (8 of them) were not very big at all. And the strawberry lemonade was possibly the worst I've had.

Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] fearthainn asked for happy D/G ... so here it is ... doesn't get much fluffier than this, folks. Just a ficlet. Ginny's trying to study, but the library is a very distracting place.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMELIA! )

Also, many, many thanks to Callie, Shar, Carlos, Jade, Amelia, Rob, Sharon, Caitlin, MC, Fear, Gia, Pud, 714, light_music, Liss, Chrismiss, Kev, Andrea, Connie, and Alicia for your hugs and stuff! You guys totally made me feel better about yesterday's lameassness, and I didn't think that would be possible. I shant underestimate you again.

Last night I went to the ER (because of course, any regular doctor is booked up weeks in advance and by then I might have been a vegetable or something) and got myself checked out. Just some soft tissue damage (and a low-grade headache), but doesn't appear to be anything serious. Oddly, I do find myself typoing a lot more than usual, but I'm hoping I can attribute that to the headache and not to some weird brain thing. The fucktard's insurance should be taking care of everything from medical to car, but I'd like to know how they're going to compensate me for having to deal w/ all this crap now. Grrrrr.
