Sat., July 31

Picked [livejournal.com profile] ropo up from airport. She'd gotten to the airport late, so her bags were arriving two hours later. We had the very envious experience of dining at IHOP near the airport. (That Paradise breakfast is crazy, man. Ice cream on pancakes?! Why didn't anyone think of this before??)

Mon., Aug. 2

On this day we went and got mani/pedis, which I'd been wanting for WEEKS. Oh, it was so nice. I have cute toes again -- rose color, this time, with a flower design (they use a little jewel for the center of the flower, so cute).

We also barbecued in the morning (OMG I don't think there's anything I like quite as much as a good barbecue ... except maybe sushi), and had drinks with some of my coworkers in the evening.

Had the BEST Waldorf salad at CPK. I kept thinking about it for days afterward.

Tue., Aug. 3

Took a ferry to an island nearby. It's v. cute, but you can do everything there is to do in a day. We went to a pub that was recommended to us by one of the guys we had drinks with last night, and had the most delicious fish and chips. What is with malt vinegar? It disappears the second you put it on your food. Between the two of us we used half a brand-new bottle of it and we could still barely taste it. Malt vinegar, you are one of life's greatest mysteries.

Also, right by the water, there were tons and tons and TONS of gorgeous blackberries, just calling out to me going "Pick me! Pick me!" Unfortunately, most of them were out of reach, so I had to climb railings and such to get a meager few. I got v. scratched up in the process, and it wasn't even worth it, as the blackberries were only okay. :-l Might have been good in a pie, though. If only I baked pies.

I am happy to say that we did not have to give anyone a blow job in order to get back (there was an incident a couple of years back in which we wanted to leave Victoria, Canada, but wasn't sure if we'd make it onto the ferry, so me, Jade, and Robbie each picked out a guy to, um, "persuade." Luckily it didn't come to that, but even if it did, I got dibs on the cute one :D).

When we got home we watched the last of Sex and the City, S6, part 2, which my dad managed to obtain for me. Go Dad! Such a fantastic show, and I'm generally very happy with the way things turned out. I'm truly sorry it's over. *weepz*

Wed., Aug. 4

Lazy day. Sat around and watched movies.

Made little progress on a 1,500-piece puzzle (I hates the puzzle) we've been working on since Day 1. (We're determined to finish it before Robbie leaves, but it's broken me just a little bit.)

Thur., Aug. 7

Had dinner with my cousin and her husband at the Best Little Italian Restaurant Evah. They've got this fusilli quattro formaggi that is to die for. And the spaghetti pescatore is awesome, too, but since it's filled with mussels and calamari it's not good for my cholesterol. :( And the salad! Fresh mozzarella in salad is da bomb. Oh no, now I'm ravenously hungry.

*decides to stop talking about this day*

Fri., Aug. 6

Saw [livejournal.com profile] corianderstem and [livejournal.com profile] leiliaxf! Was v. fun. Went to CPK for dinner so that I could have another crack at the yummy Waldorf salad. Still soooooo good. (I must stop talking about food.)

Sharon came over afterward and we used her for slave labor on the puzzle worked on the puzzle a bit, and she agrees: It's the devil.

Sat., Aug. 7

We got massages today at Fountain of Beauty. Next weekend we're getting facials and I'm getting a boob job. Well, it's not surgical, but they claim to make one's breasts fuller, firmer, etc., in one treatment. So I figure, why not try it. :D

Also, Robbie's obsession is making homemade cards, and is basically keeping the crafts industry afloat with all of her purchases. However, now she's gotten me into it, although I'm focusing my attention on bookmarks. All the stamps and embossing powders and what not are so fun! But jeebus, extremely expensive. Guess what everyone's getting for Christmas this year?

In the stamp 'n scrap store, Robbie got excited about some stickers she saw, and said, "Awww, I love these stickers! Because I'm gay." -- LOUDLY, with me standing right next to her!! I'm so glad she's my friend.

Sun., Aug. 8

Third day in a ROW of getting PINTS of Cold Stone ice cream and bringing them home. The flavors I've gotten:

- banana ice cream, mixed with almonds and black cherries (my usual)
- banana ice cream, mixed with almonds and raspberries
- strawberry ice cream, mixed with almonds and strawberries (yes, I like almonds in ice cream)

But here's where I get totally done with Robbie:

So last night, we got our usual pints, only Robbie got the Sinless Sweet Cream (made with Splenda), mixed with peanut butter cups and Oreo crust, and ate the entire thing. I couldn't believe it when I heard her spoon scrape the bottom of the container, but figured, eh, she's on vacation, whatever.

This morning, she was sick as a dog. Terrible stomach cramping and etc. It turns out that the recommended serving size of anything with Splenda in it is half a cup. Robbie ate a PINT. We canceled our plans for brunch. She seemed to be okay in the afternoon, so we went to the movies (The Bourne Supremacy -- liked it a lot; love the Matt Damon and Franka Potente, even if, well, you know ... and Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, which was the funnay. We both liked it a lot, though it's not for everyone and you definitely have to be in a certain kind of mood to see it. We keep re-enacting parts from it. *snickersnicker* And me, Rob, and Jade all agree -- which, if you know us at all, you'll know it's a complete rarity: John Cho is HOT).

ANYway, so she made it through the movies though her stomach was still gurgly. We went to dinner at Coho Cafe (they overcooked my seared ahi tuna and I had to send it back), and when we returned home, what did she do? Got out another pint of her Splenda-made Cold Stone!!!!!! I practically had to wrestle it from her! After everything she'd gone through, she was going to eat it again!!! I ask you.

Mon., Aug. 9

First day back at work. It suxors.

Tue., Aug. 10

Second day back at work. It still suxors.

Am looking into parasailing, which is something we want to do this weekend.

Ooh, Robbie has just called. She is making her famous grilled cheese. Going home now.

And how have all of you been? :D

D00d, that sounds like the awesomest week evah! And all this talk of yummy food has made ME hungry! Now I want to have lunch at CPK! Mmmmm.

*cracks up at subj. title*

Heehee. You are sooo funny! :))

Ooh. Saw The Bourne Supremacy and loved it! Matt Damon is teh HOT! Really liked Franka Potente too, but well... YOU know.

Ah, Coldstone. Haven't actually HAD any (GASP! omg!). Yeah, but you know, I think mebbe I will. Will very likely be staying away from the Splenda-made. Good idea, wouldn't you say??

HA. Thanks for sharing your week! And *do* let us know how the boob job goes! *g*

How was my week, you ask? Well, I guess you could say it was: not as interesting as yours. That may've been a factor as to why I couldn't resist reading about yours! :D I've been a lazy butt, so that pretty much speaks for itself.

Well, hope you have a GOOD rest of the week! Late-uhs!

Next weekend we're getting facials and I'm getting a boob job.

I was drinking coffee when I was reading this and I almost choked. I had to read that phrase twice before realizing what you were talking about. It is the curse of the foreign speaker: you always learn the dirty expressions first, so innocent and semi-innocent phrases like that last one suddenly get a NC-17 meaning and hilarity ensues...

It turns out that the recommended serving size of anything with Splenda in it is half a cup.

Wah! No such thing as a free lunch... Splenda is one my of my favorite things ever. I knew there had to be a "but" somewhere...

And what is this mysterious Coldstone you are talking about? A store that lets you mix your own ice cream?

And how have all of you been? :D

Eh, work, work, work, and a little play...

I hope the coffee wasn't hot. :D Boob job, blow job, it's all rather iffy, so it's okay that your mind went to the gutter.

OMG, it makes me so sad that you have never tasted a Noah's bagel and now you don't know Cold Stone. *weeps*

http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/

It's totally this ice cream place that has, like, a dozen "base" ice cream flavors (that are ridiculously creamy and rich), and a billion (or so) mix-ins that you can choose to go with your ice cream. So it's sort of like creating your own flavor. I can't wait for October, when they will have pumpkin ice cream. Mmmm.

Lately I've been all play, but now I join you in the chaingang.
