I haven't forgotten that I owe you guys pictures. I just want to get them all taken before I post, that's all. So it's not too late if you want to make a request! I can't believe no one has requested to see Logan's car, which I (used to) see all the time.

So, I've been watching S1 Gilmore Girls. I've been enjoying it so far, though it's really just a fluffy, fluffy show. I have no problem with fluff, as long as it's done well, and they do it well. My favorite character is Lorelai, followed by Luke, followed by Sookie. I love the Sookie/Jackson subplot -- it's cute, and we get just enough for it to be amusing. Luke himself cracks me up, which is always a surefire way to win my heart. I've liked the Luke/Lorelai I've seen so far, but of course it's just S1, so it's a slow burn and I'm not obsessed with them or anything. Not that I get obsessed with things.

What I find odd about watching this show is that even though I love all the things I mention above, what gets me to have to watch the next episode is Rory's teen drama stuff. I have very little interest in Rory herself (I like her, but she's just so drab and colorless that I honestly can't imagine why boys like her), partly because Alexis Bledel, while a good actress and perfect for the role, is just kind of mousey and unattractive. There's something about her that bothers me, even though I don't dislike her or anything. Maybe it's the fact that she looks like she's 12 years old, not 16. But even though Dean has grown on me a bit, I still prefer Tristan for Rory. Again, I enjoy that they're so different, and that he likes her but is completely immature about it, that she doesn't realize it at all. Of course, I don't really like, like either of them (which is fine, since I barely like Rory herself), but recent happenings have made me even more ambivalent -- Tristan being a pussy wrt Summer, Dean acting like a total freak by taking Rory to an overly fancy dinner for their 3-month anniversary, then presenting her with a car he was building for her, then telling her he loved her and then falling apart and getting angry when she couldn't say it in return. Seriously. What. a. freak.

Even though I can't stand Paris (though somehow I get the feeling she's going to be Rory's best friend or something before long), at least she's interesting in a scene. Especially because she insists on humiliating herself all the time. So yeah, Rory's teen stuff, interesting to me.

Lorelai's adult stuff, not so interesting. I have less than zero interest in Max MeBoreMetoDeath. The actor is fugly, the storyline is stupid and contradictory (make up your minds why Lorelai can't be with him, don't make it one thing in one ep, fix it, say it's something else, and then go back to the first thing), and Lorelai deserves so. much. better. I really liked Christopher, and if they'd done more with him, made him and Lorelai seem more in love (there wasn't much fizzle there, despite their impromptu shagging), I so would have gone there with them. Because I am a first-love kind of girl (which is why it says something about how much I love Logan/Veronica), and he's Rory's father. Plus, dude, Christopher is HOT. <g> But anyway, whatever. Lorelai is best when she doesn't have a romantic thing going on, or if there must be one, the most tolerable one is when she's with Luke.

I've also finally seen the first few episodes of Alias S5. Before I talk about it, I must say: KUDOS TO EVERYONE! Kudos to all the people on my flist who watch the show, and yet somehow managed not to spoil me for the huge thing that happens. Kudos to Jade for keeping so quiet for so long. And kudos to me for avoiding every possible spoilery thing that could possibly come my way. <g>

Okay. Now. Wow. They killed Vaughn. Wow! Let me say, though, that I don't think he's necessarily dead. The problem with a show like this is that they have one of those stupid outs whenever they want to kill someone/bring someone back -- there's that thing that can make people look like other people. 8-| So I have no doubt that if they wanted to bring Vaughn back at some point, they wouldn't hesitate to use that contrivance again.

I am not, as you know, Vaughn's #1 fan. However, I do have this to say: TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE. At this point, I didn't even want Vaughn to die. He's part of Alias. I didn't even not want to see him with Syd, exactly. I just didn't want to see it the way they were doing it. Plus, I'm kind of sick of seeing ever-new people on the show. What they should do is take what they have and make it GOOD, not change it to something else. :p And why kill him just as they had made him interesting?! Vaughn was actually a double agent (or was he? I didn't really understand what the deal with him and Renee and what not was)? That is so cool (if contrived)! And then he DIES? WTF. And he couldn't just die all shockingly -- no. First they had to riddle him with bullets. Then he was riddled with a second round of bullets. He somehow SURVIVES THAT AND DOESN'T DIE INSTANTLY as most people -- and enemies on the show -- do. He then somehow survives his surgery. AND THEN HE DIES?! Why are they so fucking stupid? Why do they have to draw it out in such a meaningless and unbelievable way??? I don't get it.

I don't like the look of this Renee chick. She's got to go.

Balthazar Getty. Mmmmmm. He's one of those actors whose names I know, and who I think is cute, but who I don't have a clue why I know him or where he's famous from. I like Rachel, too. And I like that they seem to want to get Tom and Rachel together. (This means they can conveniently leave together at the end of the season.) But you know who I love more? Nadia and Weiss. I miss Nadia. She rocked so much. I hope Mia Maestro comes back. I so want her to work with Sydney. I want to learn more about the Bristows. "Please do everything you can for Nadia, as if she were your own daughter," Sloane says. Jack says he will. You know why? BECAUSE SHE'S SO HIS DAUGHTER. Mwahahaha! Seriously, there's no other way to interpret what Irina said to him in the last ep of S4. Nadia is so Jack's daughter. And when Sloane eventually finds that out, it's what's going to make him stop being a 'good guy' and go back to being Evil!Sloane. I can't wait!

I honestly don't know wtf they're going to do about Syd's baby. She can't lose it, I don't think. I guess they could have it be abducted, and then something new will drive Syd, but I hope they don't go there. I can't imagine Sydney being a mom on the show, either. She could give it up for adoption, but given it's her last link to Vaughn, and the fact that it's what Scully did on XF, it seems unlikely. This one has me flummoxed.

Also, I love that Amy Acker is guest starring. I'm amazed by how much I don't like her character, because I love Amy Acker. I guess that just goes to show that she's a v. talented actress! Hee. Though I kind of wish she'd been cast as Rachel, instead. <g>

Wow. Who knew Forbes could be this creative/insane? It's their "top 15 richest fictional characters" list (pointed out by [livejournal.com profile] rainpuddle13). I must say, I take issue with some of their choices (especially the ordering). However, I am vastly amused that Lucius Malfoy made the list, and am tickled by the profile they did on him. Heehee!

Here's the top 15:

1. Santa Claus
2. Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks
3. Richie Rich
4. Lex Luthor
5. C. Montgomery Burns
6. Scrooge McDuck
7. Jed Clampett
8. Bruce Wayne
9. Thurston Howell III
10. Willy Wonka
11. Arthur Bach
12. Ebenezer Scrooge
13. Lara Croft
14. Cruella De Vil
15. Lucius Malfoy

I mean, where's Logan Echolls? Or, fine, Duncan Kane? Cal Hockley? Big from S&tC? Mia Thermopolis (or her grandmother)? Cher from Clueless? The Gilmores? Every Lynne Graham hero ever?

Gnome Rogue

Gnomes are strange little things. Fascinated with gadgets and shiny things, gnomes are often plotting and planning - but are pretty smart, despite all the explosions.

As a rogue, you're always looking out for number one. You aren't afraid to do whatever it takes to win - and if things take a turn for the worse, you can always vanish into the night... Just don't run out of flash powder.

Hahahaha, that sounds about right. Ironically, of course, I don't actually have a high-lvl gnome rogue, though I had started one. I already do a great impression of a rogue stealthing, and it's probably no surprise that I'm meant to be an annoying little gnome. *sigh* My only issue with these results is that I wish I were Horde. :(

I think my favorite question/answer was:

If you were to get into a fight, you would most likely...Whip out a giant friggin' axe and whirl around. :)))) If only I could have chosen that as an honest answer.

For those of you who have been around that long, you might remember that waaaay back in December 2004, I posted a rant about T-Mobile, and that, I quote: At the end of my required period with them, I am leaving no matter the incentive. I have never been treated so appallingly; I've never experienced such tactics at the hand of a large, thriving business that has nothing to lose and everything to gain by exhibiting even one iota of understanding toward its customers. And as someone who has a very long memory, and who can bear a grudge, particularly when I have been as grievously wronged as T-Mobile wronged me, I canceled my account today and went with Cingular. :D Really, everyone should switch mobile service providers every couple of years anyway, because in today's culture it's only new customers, not loyal customers, who get all the perks. So now not only have I ditched the HORRIBLE AND REPULSIVE T-MOBILE, I have also: a) got a new, free camera phone; b) enrolled in a service plan that has free mobile-to-mobile minutes (unlike some companies that charge monthly for such a service); and c) enrolled in a service plan that has *rollover* minutes, which is just the best thing ever -- it means that if I don't use up all my allotted minutes in a month, they get rolled over to the next month. Do I even need to say that at T-Mobile, those minutes simply disappear? All good selling points. But I have to admit that the biggest selling point really is FUCK YOU, T-MOBILE.

We had lots of snow yesterday. I love snow. And walking in it. I love the crunchy squeakiness of it. But I hate the days after it snows, when it starts to melt and turn into gray slush and makes roads slippery and what not. So really, the solution is to live somewhere where it snows one day, then is 90 degrees the next day so it all melts away cleanly.

Forgot to say: Meeting with Julie tomorrow to go to a bar and watch the UCLA-USC game. I actually didn't want to be anywhere in public, because odds are we're gonna get creamed, but she insisted. I just hope we give them a run for their money. I want to play a good game; I hope that's not too much to ask. :-S

I've never had any bad luck with T-Mobile. Well, I have on a couple of occasions, but they rewarded me for those oversights with a free phone that, at the time, cost about $230. Everytime they give more incentives, I call them and insist that I get them. When I've gone over on a number of occasions, they've refunded the overages and given me a free 100 minutes to pad a little. My Mom and I have free mobile-to-mobile.

It's weird what different experiences people have with certain cell phone companies. I've been with T-Mobile since they were Powertel (circa 1998) and have been with them ever since. I'm sorry you got treated so badly...that truly sucks. There is almost nothing as stressful as having to deal with a cell phone company.
