Does anyone know whether high-speed Internet access through cable is the same as DSL with regard to routers/wireless connectivity? See, I have DSL now, and a wireless router, and I love it. But at the new place, I was thinking I'd cut out the necessity of a land line, and use cable broadband instead of DSL ... only, I don't know if this would affect the wireless part. I don't think it would be worth switching if it meant that I'd lose my wireless capabilities (at least, without having to pay them to do it for me).
The packing is going very well. And it's all due to
ropo and
jade_okelani, who have been phenomenal. There are many boxes packed, and I've only done like two of them. Sadly, the place still looks far from empty. *weeps* I don't know what happened to Robbie or who this imposter is in her place, but she has been downright organizational and all proactive and stuff. She yells at me for not labeling boxes correctly. She banned me from playing WoW until more things have been packed. (Going ... into ... withdrawal ...) But she frightens me most when she adopts an Australian accent and demands that I have to cut what I own (mainly books) by "hauff." She claims she's imitating some guy from one of those decorating/home improvement shows ... but I just don't know. Given everything else, she might actually be that guy in disguise.
And in the best news ever, I am a SERGEANT! PH34R ME, LOWBIES!!! Of course, I have not been able to prance around with my new rank at all, given the banning and everything. :'(
And to no one's surprise...

| Pure Nerd 56 % Nerd, 34% Geek, 43% Dork |
| For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in all Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd. The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. Congratulations! |
