It Started with a Journal

1. Warhmmer. I've been playing open beta and I'm meh so far. I'm still going to play it because all my friends are playing, but I think my hardcore days are over -- I'll be casual. The things WAR and WoW have in common, I think WoW is better done, and the things that are different are not compelling enough to me to get back into another MMO so quickly. I'm just way too burned out.

2. Moments when I feel old. The other day I was in Vent with some of the guys (calls to mind the days when I was always on AIM with other XF fic writers), and usually I don't really think about people's ages; certainly they sound like they're my age. But then moments happen where I remember that many of them are in their early 20s or even slightly younger. Such as when the subject of J.J. Abrams's "Fringe" came up. "It's like the X-Files for our generation," is how one of the guys described it. I was like, oh good lord, you know what was X-Files for my generation? THE X-FILES.

3. This is a bit late, but last month I participated in my first Daring Bakers challenge. The challenge was chocolate eclairs. My experience and detailed pics are at the link.

4. Just finished House S4. Very good season, though I'm mystified as to what they're going to do with the old/new cast. Jade shed some light on that subject, but until I actually see it in action, I'll remain mystified, I think.

5. My cousin J. and her family are in town to catch the football game tomorrow, so tonight we're meeting up with K. and her family to have fish & chips at this place that supposedly has the best fish & chips ever. Of course this would happen when I just went to Bonefish the other day and had, you guessed it, fish & chips. Gawd I'm such a slug lately. I need to get back to my good diet/exercise routine.
