Thanks to those of you who made photo requests -- keep them coming!
I've done a few, with more yet to come.

Kind of a boring shot. I'm not creative enough to make it more interesting. :/

He looks cute and not-evil here right? Right??

Right outside my neighbor's house, taken this morning.

By work, taken while in my car with the window rolled down. It's a bit blurry, unfortunately.

In a grocery store parking lot. :D Gorgeous leaves.
For

This one was a conundrum. The first shot was done without a flash, ISO 1600, shutter 1/5, aperture F3.5. Second was done with a flash, ISO 200, shutter 1/60, aperture F3.5. I wonder if there's a way to get a happy medium between the two.
And finally, a couple of pictures of food (homemade butter and chocolate pie -- how can you resist?), as well as two examples of shots I could not have made with my previous camera.

Yeah, that's not vanilla ice cream. It's fresh, delicious, homemade butter. My food blog entry about it is here.

Chocolate meringue pie. Yes, this is the pie that made me famous for a day/week on Vox.
Clicking on each of the pictures below will bring you to a larger image -- the details are even better.

Check out how vivid the orange of these pumpkins is. Wow!

No way I would have been able to get a close-up shot like this on my old camera -- or if I somehow tricked it into doing it, would not have gotten the detail of the leaves/water droplets like this.
Jade totally hates me for the butter (and maybe also the pie), since she's still recovering from surgery and is on a strict low-fat diet. Poor, poor Jade.

Date: 2008-10-17 04:51 am (UTC)The water detail on those leaves is really incredible.
re: butter and pie: youuuuuuuu biiiiiitch. That pie looks so fucking awesome, I want to eat a piece right now. And I want to smother that butter on.... well, anything, really. It's sad that a tablespoon of it is all I could eat for my entire meal. I use my sarcastic DD icon to shun you.
Also: WTF that you're making your own butter now. This might be the stage where I express concern as your best friend and wonder if you aren't taking things too far.

Date: 2008-10-17 05:16 am (UTC)I will totally make you that pie in Dec.! Because you should be all better by then, right? Right!
LOL dude, butter is SO EASY that of all the things I've made, it's actually something where I haven't gone far at all. I'd say that the thing I've made that might be going too far is the tortilla chips. But actually that's easy too. So I totally haven't gone very far at all! Just to like, the corner!
I am duly chastised by DD. Oh hey look, Mulder is eating pie too!
