Oh weekend, you're so close...
Sep. 26th, 2008 01:39 pmSupposedly it is going to be 70°F this weekend ... oh please let it be so. I am a fan of warm weather. I don't mind autumn, but honestly if it were summer year round, I'd like it just fine (I am from southern Cali after all). The cold is inevitable here, so as much as it can be delayed, I'm all for delaying it. Also I hope it's warm in Santa Cruz when I'm there in 3 weeks!
This is good because this weekend I am going to my cousin's for half a box of those delicious nectarines that I waxed poetic about on my food blog. We tried to get some last weekend, but they didn't have anymore boxes of seconds (and we didn't want to get a box of firsts, which are $4/lb). They said they'd reserve a box of seconds for us this weekend, woot.
AND tomorrow night
corianderstem is coming over for some Wii fun and Lambrusco consumption. I'm not a big wine drinker (like many Asians, I am deficient in the ALDH enzyme, which breaks down alcohol in the body), but this one is supposed to be sweet, which is promising. Also my cousin (who's a doctor, so this isn't some urban legend) says that I can take an antacid like Pepcid AC, 30-60 minutes before my first drink and it will enable me to consume a moderate amount of alcohol without getting the symptoms of an allergic reaction. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see if it works.
Anyway, I'm also making chili! It's been so long since I cooked for anyone other than myself (with the exception of baking bread) that I'm really looking forward to it. Plus if we tire of the Wii early, we have the Sex & the City movie, yay!
The one thing I haven't figured out yet is what I'm going to do with Talis.

Date: 2008-09-26 11:51 pm (UTC)Eat a stick of butter before you drink! It'll coat your stomach and you'll be able to handle to the alcohol better. That's what I've heard anyways. Of course, your cholesterol will go even more through the roof, but it's a small price to pay!

Date: 2008-09-27 06:20 am (UTC)Dude, I already sent you a recap of it a billion years ago! It's all T/T draaaaaaama. Soujiro and Yuki have, like, 3 seconds together in it.
This has some cam versions of the movie but they're not dubbed but who needs that anyway!
Also, Ariel and Joe have a new series coming out! And she's not dumb as a post!

Date: 2008-09-27 06:24 am (UTC)WTF I don't remember a recap for the HYD movie. Either you're on crack or Gmail failed somehow. Hmm, which of the two is more likely...
I remember the trailer and that's about it!

Also, great description for a series, or greatest description for a series?
