the bean game and stuff

Happy belated birthday to
ceilidh! Sorry I'm lame. And late.
Nearly fell asleep on my way to work. Again. I had to slap myself a couple of times to stay awake. This has definitely been the most annoying part of the new house -- the new commute. I generally am pretty tired/sleepy in the mornings, but at least before I was able to get to work pretty quick, before the lulling motions of the car would make me too sleepy. Now it takes me soooo long to get to work, and I just get sleepier and sleepier as the commute goes on. It's no good for anyone, I tell you.
Had tons of fun w/ the usual suspects last night, plus
romanticalgirl, who introduced us to the bean game. I love the bean game. It's soooo fun. Laura, what were the names of those other games you mentioned last night? I might want to just order a bunch of them at once, to save on shipping. :D Oh, but speaking of Laura, she's got me reading something other than Draco/Ginny! *GASP*, you say. I know, it's shocking. See, I've always held a small, guilty interest in Hermione/Weasley twin, and always wanted to read a story that took their relationship from beginning to end while staying reasonably close to canon (meaning Ron and R/Hr would have to be dealt with). I never found any such story, until Laura told me about Red Herring, a Fred/Hermione story she wrote that does just that! Squee! I'm majorly digging it so far. But don't worry, my OTP remains unshaken and unstirred.
Have you ever had Olympic Mountain ice cream? It's seriously the best ice cream ever -- especially their pumpkin. You can only get it in restaurants here -- unless you're me, in which case you call the headquarters of their small little outfit and agree to meet their delivery truck at one of their delivery locations so you can pick up the gallon of pumpkin pie, and quarts of vanilla and chocolate ice cream that you pleaded with them to let you order. OH YES THERE WILL BE ICE CREAM TONIGHT.
Tonight The Other Ones and I are probably going to go see The Aristocrats and play more of the bean game. Then tomorrow they go home. :(
Also, there was a freak storm last night, and the fan in the guest bathroom started to leak. I am very, very worried about this, so I'm trying not to think about it too much. But every time I remember, it's like this ball of dread in my stomach. It's so a sign of impending doom, aka a more serious problem. :((

Date: 2005-09-09 06:23 pm (UTC)I love the name, too. BOHNANZA!!!! We kept singing it to Abba's "Fernando" the entire week. "There was something in the air that night, the stars were bright, BOHNANZA!!!"

Date: 2005-09-09 06:30 pm (UTC)TELL ME YOUR DECORATING STYLE, WOMAN.

Date: 2005-09-09 06:38 pm (UTC)I don't actually have a decorating "style." In recent years I have attempted to veer away from the college dorm room look, with varying degrees of success. Now I just buy prints or whatever that I think are pretty. And that goes for just about everything else.
I'm so helpful.

Date: 2005-09-09 07:37 pm (UTC)Sigh. Okay, what sort of prints? Are you abstract woman or impressionist woman? Black and white photos of Paris? If you don't give me somthing to work with, I'm going to give you a lamp shaped like a clown and you'll just have to live with it.

Date: 2005-09-09 11:06 pm (UTC)I'm more impressionist girl. However, I'm just really all over the place. I have Monet in the bedroom, Degas in the bathroom, Van Gogh in the dining room, and that popular print w/ the rich couple dancing in the rain w/ the butler and maid, in the 'living room.' My rooms upstairs are all pastel-ly, while the downstairs has bolder colors. But I'm thinking about maybe changing that one day. <g>
OMG a lamp shaped like a clown?! Who makes such wonderful things?????

Might be worth a shot. Costco sells it by the case :)

Date: 2005-09-09 11:22 pm (UTC)BTW, I have a present for you. We went to this Target near the new place and they had tons of dark chocolate M&M's! Robbie said you'd been looking for them, so I bought you a bag. The catch is: You're going to have to come get them. Mwahahahaha.
Also, I am super sorry to hear about Chelsea, the poor thing. :( I'm sure she'll be okay; puppies are troopers! Just ask Trix about her old dog, who ate a sandwich, toothpick and all, and how it poked through her tummy!
