The thing with having a smaller appetite is that now I get hungry faster, too. So now I'm reaaaaallly hungry, after having lunch at noon. It didn't help that I just read this article. OMG, now I want to visit Vietnam. I love Vietnamese food, but having it in the States is just not as authentic (or cheap). I'd really like to do what these people did, just go on a food tour of the country. *drool*

I am laughing so hard at this. Who knew it was this complicated to be a man? I've always been grateful to be a girl, but now there's yet another reason. I guess I've never really thought about it, this idea of a "man date," since it's no big deal for two girls to hang out together. Poor guys. I love this, at the end: "All men, however, agree that one rule of guy-meets-guy time is inviolable: if a woman enters the picture, a man can drop his buddies, last minute, no questions asked," because it just illustrates the innate differences between het guys and het girls. That is the number one DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU EXPECT TO REMAIN MY FRIEND rule for women. Ditching your girlfriends for a guy is the epitome of low/pathetic and earns you a lot of (deserved) derision. Or is that just me? I mean, would you do that to someone/put up with someone doing that to you? Perhaps I am just v. intolerant, but this is definitely one of my buttons.

I received my blood donor card today, and I'm in the "rare blood donor" camp! Haha, I may start to get hassled like Fear from scary blood bank people. I didn't know this, but apparently blood works better if you're giving/getting it from someone of your own ethnicity. (Who are the biologists around here who can explain this to me?) So since I am "a person of color," this makes me a rare blood donor. Neat.

I'm working on the "finding the work" bit. Hopefully it'll work out, because office work is kinda hard to find right now... But I'll keep you 8and everybody, thanks to the magic of LJ :P ) posted.

MMORPGs were text only? :O How does that even work?

They were called Multi User Dungeons or MUDs... instead of having nice 3D models and areas, you had text descriptions of "rooms" (where a room was, say, a church, or a street to a castle, or part of the jungle) and you would tell your character what to do by using text coomands (like "North", "See sword", "Kill Goblin", etc, etc). I found these screenshots, for what they are worth...

They were very, very addictive... so much, in fact, that I had to force myself away from them to keep my grades from suffering :'( There are still some of them avilable, and most of them are free.
