general lameness <g>

My supercomputer is never going to be built, because I'm lame. *performs self flagellation while weeping* This also means I'm never going to play WoW. My just desserts.
If you haven't already, tell me what your song is! :D A CD with 5 songs on it is, well, sad. You don't want me to have a sad CD, do you? WELL DO YOU???? All right; I see how it is. :-l
One good bit of news is ... Cassie responded to my questions on her character meme, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by a couple of the answers. Dare I hope for a D/G ending yet? Well, whatever happens, I've had hours of fun with the DT, and without it I would never have met any of y'all, so I don't regret a moment. Plus it's fun to be obsessive about it -- there's so much fodder.
I've gone and found out when Sark is going to make an appearance on Alias. After Buffy S6 I quit spoilers cold turkey, because they were wrecking my enjoyment of the show ... but since Alias doesn't have that far to sink, I figured at least this way I would know when I could look forward to an episode.
And here's what I like to call the "So how big a geek were you, exactly?" meme:
List five fictional people -- from television, movies, books, whatever -- that you had a crush on as a child (or early teens). Then post this on your LiveJournal so other people can be assured that you're as weird as they thought.
* Jack Kelley, from Newsies (The obsession with Christian Bale started here. See how loyal I've been through the years?)
* Gilbert Blythe, from Anne of Green Gables (And then again when I saw the movies.)
* Prince Eric, from The Little Mermaid (There is nothing more fruitless than lusting after a cartoon character.)
* Sam Beckett, from Quantum Leap (My friend and I used to sign our notes "Mrs. Scott Bakula." Apparently it didn't bother us that we were polygamists.)
* Logan Bruno, from The Baby-sitter's Club (Am I the only one who read these? :"> I loved Logan. I wanted my own Logan. I hear he and Mary Anne eventually broke up; that makes me sad. :'( )

And yes! They broke up! And weren't together at the end of the series! I don't know if he turned into a jerk or what, but it's still sad, man. *sniff*

Date: 2005-02-04 11:10 am (UTC)I have to admit it took me awhile to get into Pride & Prejudice -- so Mr. Darcy wasn't one of my childhood/teen crushes. I was an adult before I appreciated him.

Date: 2005-02-04 04:05 am (UTC)Regardless, I should have put Spot Conland from Newsies on mine, and your Gilbert Blythe startled an enthused "Eep!" from me, because I adored him!

Date: 2005-02-04 11:12 am (UTC)Heehee, Spot. He was def. my #2 in Newsies. :D

Date: 2005-02-04 11:30 am (UTC)I haven't sold my BSC books, either. ;-) Shhh.
And Spot and his accent-- both hot. Whatever happened to Gabriel Damon, anyway?

Date: 2005-02-04 12:33 pm (UTC)Sadly, I did sell my books ... quite a long time ago, now. I rather wish I hadn't. Oh well. *le sigh*

And now I know I'm not the only

Date: 2005-02-04 06:17 am (UTC)How cool is it that you know and love 'Newsies' (so much eye candy... *swoon*) AND 'Anne of Green Gables'! The guy who played Gilbert Blythe was oh so hot! Heehee!!! And Christian Bale, well... one really cannot say enough about him!
So, you also read 'The Babysitter Club' series! Me too! It was my favorite series back when I was a kid! LOL!!!
*hugs*

Date: 2005-02-04 11:19 am (UTC)It was my fave series, too. I also read The Fabulous Five, Stepsisters, and anything by Barthe DeClements (I think that was her name), Madeleine L'Engle and Paula Danziger. :D

Date: 2005-02-04 06:45 pm (UTC)Ooooh! I read some Bathe DeClements as well! I remember reading 'Nothings Fair in Fifth Grade' and 'Sixth Grade Can Really Kill You'! Heehee!!!

Date: 2005-02-04 12:34 pm (UTC)And Logan! I adored Logan! He was from the south just like me, so he was representin'. Though I am both shocked AND appalled that he and Mary Anne broke up. The tart must have cheated on him. Probably with... *draws blank on other male BSC characters*

Date: 2005-02-04 12:49 pm (UTC)AHA, he was from the south! I'd forgotten about that little tidbit. From the synopses of the books I read at Amazon, it appears that Mary Anne just needed to 'grow' and it just wasn't the same with Logan or whatever. And then apparently she spends the rest of the series regretting her decision. Sigh. It's like, I totally understand that Ann M. Martin probably wanted to make her characters good role models for young girls, you don't need to depend on a guy, blah blah. But he was such a good guy! Girls should learn to hold on to those kinds of guys, and not break up with them for lame reasons! <g>
Is your icon from the cover of an STP album, by any chance? I'm thinking 'Core.' But I don't think so ... I think it just reminds me of it.
