My supercomputer is never going to be built, because I'm lame. *performs self flagellation while weeping* This also means I'm never going to play WoW. My just desserts.

If you haven't already, tell me what your song is! :D A CD with 5 songs on it is, well, sad. You don't want me to have a sad CD, do you? WELL DO YOU???? All right; I see how it is. :-l

One good bit of news is ... Cassie responded to my questions on her character meme, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by a couple of the answers. Dare I hope for a D/G ending yet? Well, whatever happens, I've had hours of fun with the DT, and without it I would never have met any of y'all, so I don't regret a moment. Plus it's fun to be obsessive about it -- there's so much fodder.

I've gone and found out when Sark is going to make an appearance on Alias. After Buffy S6 I quit spoilers cold turkey, because they were wrecking my enjoyment of the show ... but since Alias doesn't have that far to sink, I figured at least this way I would know when I could look forward to an episode.

And here's what I like to call the "So how big a geek were you, exactly?" meme:

List five fictional people -- from television, movies, books, whatever -- that you had a crush on as a child (or early teens). Then post this on your LiveJournal so other people can be assured that you're as weird as they thought.

* Jack Kelley, from Newsies (The obsession with Christian Bale started here. See how loyal I've been through the years?)
* Gilbert Blythe, from Anne of Green Gables (And then again when I saw the movies.)
* Prince Eric, from The Little Mermaid (There is nothing more fruitless than lusting after a cartoon character.)
* Sam Beckett, from Quantum Leap (My friend and I used to sign our notes "Mrs. Scott Bakula." Apparently it didn't bother us that we were polygamists.)
* Logan Bruno, from The Baby-sitter's Club (Am I the only one who read these? :"> I loved Logan. I wanted my own Logan. I hear he and Mary Anne eventually broke up; that makes me sad. :'( )

Ohhhh Sam Beckett... he would so have been on my list if it were crushes I'd had as adults because... well, dude, it's Sam!

I'm with ya, babe. He's such a woobie. It makes me sad to think of him out there, leaping from life to life and never getting home. *sniff*

And remember the episode where he did get to go home and he was telling his sister he was from the future and she asked him to sing a song... and he sang "Imagine"? Fuck, I'm getting teary just thinking about it.

Yes!!!! That's totally on the QL soundtrack that I have somewhere around here. You must have a copy of him singing it. If you don't, tell me and I'll upload it for you.

Oh, what the hell, here it is (http://s30.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1RDZEPIU3B5D31124MOLWRUX0U). Enjoy!!

From the bit of 'research' I did, it seems the BSC series has ended. I only dabbled in any of the Sweet Valley things; not sure why it never caught my complete attention.

OMG, Logan and Mary Anne broke up?!? But how!! He had that great accent and all!!

He had an accent?!

Boy, the things you (don't) remember. I just remember he was hunky and sweet and treated her well.

And yes! They broke up! And weren't together at the end of the series! I don't know if he turned into a jerk or what, but it's still sad, man. *sniff*

I would love to pick "I love beans," but I'll be nice and not do that to you. I will think on this.

Thank you. When you do come up with it, comment at that post so I can have them all in one place, okay? Danke!!

Gilbert Blythe was so easy to have a crush on though!!! He remains one of my favorite fictional men. Right up there with Mr. Darcy.

I know; how could you not love Gil?

I have to admit it took me awhile to get into Pride & Prejudice -- so Mr. Darcy wasn't one of my childhood/teen crushes. I was an adult before I appreciated him.

I agree with the DT thing. I'm a bit obsessive about it too. Hahaha.

Prince Eric! Oh yeah. Good looking. :) Hehe.

I think Eric was the last Disney prince I really cared for. Except for Simba -- love Simba, but he doesn't count. <g>

Are you KIDDING? Everyone read Babysitters Club ;) Ah, hell, now I have the theme song in my head.
Regardless, I should have put Spot Conland from Newsies on mine, and your Gilbert Blythe startled an enthused "Eep!" from me, because I adored him!

I only vaguely remember the movie, but I had the entire series up to ... I can't remember, but they were my prize collection. I wish I hadn't sold them now, just for the sake of posterity.

Heehee, Spot. He was def. my #2 in Newsies. :D

Ooh! A fellow Scorpio!

I haven't sold my BSC books, either. ;-) Shhh.

And Spot and his accent-- both hot. Whatever happened to Gabriel Damon, anyway?

Not a whole lot, from what I can see at the IMDB. Looks like he just finished filming something, though nothing major.

Sadly, I did sell my books ... quite a long time ago, now. I rather wish I hadn't. Oh well. *le sigh*

Sweet Valley Saga, were those called? I totally had one of those. There were the twins who, um... rode horses in the circus. Hehehe... wow.

Ah yes, Scott Bakula. :)

He was so yummy in Murphy Brown. That was the first time (I think) that I ever saw him without his shirt on.

And now I know I'm not the only geek one with the Quantum Leap CD.

I don't think I even knew he was ever on Murphy Brown. My crush on him ended when QL did ... just like my crush on David Duchovny when XF was over. I'm fickle! Christian Bale's the only one I've been true to after all this time. ; )

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

How cool is it that you know and love 'Newsies' (so much eye candy... *swoon*) AND 'Anne of Green Gables'! The guy who played Gilbert Blythe was oh so hot! Heehee!!! And Christian Bale, well... one really cannot say enough about him!

So, you also read 'The Babysitter Club' series! Me too! It was my favorite series back when I was a kid! LOL!!!

*hugs*

I adore Newsies. People sadly do not appreciate it as much as I (and Jade and now you) do. It bothers me especially when they haven't even seen it. If you must diss something, please at least come from a place of experience/knowledge.

It was my fave series, too. I also read The Fabulous Five, Stepsisters, and anything by Barthe DeClements (I think that was her name), Madeleine L'Engle and Paula Danziger. :D

AMEN sister! Newsies was just wonderful! Not only for the eye candy, but the story and the music were just great too! Ah... how I looove that movie! Christian Bale was oh so hot in that flick and I also looooved Gabriel Damon (he played Spot Conlon... gotta love the rough tough bad boy from Brooklyn!).

Ooooh! I read some Bathe DeClements as well! I remember reading 'Nothings Fair in Fifth Grade' and 'Sixth Grade Can Really Kill You'! Heehee!!!

*hugs*

Prince Eric is totally the hottest of all Disney princes.

And Logan! I adored Logan! He was from the south just like me, so he was representin'. Though I am both shocked AND appalled that he and Mary Anne broke up. The tart must have cheated on him. Probably with... *draws blank on other male BSC characters*

Date: 2005-02-04 12:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com
He's one of the very few with a personality, that's why. ; )

AHA, he was from the south! I'd forgotten about that little tidbit. From the synopses of the books I read at Amazon, it appears that Mary Anne just needed to 'grow' and it just wasn't the same with Logan or whatever. And then apparently she spends the rest of the series regretting her decision. Sigh. It's like, I totally understand that Ann M. Martin probably wanted to make her characters good role models for young girls, you don't need to depend on a guy, blah blah. But he was such a good guy! Girls should learn to hold on to those kinds of guys, and not break up with them for lame reasons! <g>

Is your icon from the cover of an STP album, by any chance? I'm thinking 'Core.' But I don't think so ... I think it just reminds me of it.

I'm just glad I never had to read the sad disentigration of an adorable relationship.

And yep, this icon is part of the cover of "Core." *<3's STP*
