I love TV show theme songs. My favorite was the one from "Growing Pains." No matter what else was going on, the second it started I knew the next half hour was going to be all right. :))

Things to feel happy about:

* I have FINISHED PP3, which means the story is DONE (though now comes the editing phase, so it may be a couple of days before it's ready for public consumption). This was such a monkey on my back and now it's done, done, done! \:D/

* Jade hit her 50K NaNo count last night! (With PP done, this means we can finally focus on IYOK7, although there are still [livejournal.com profile] dearsanta fics to contend with.)

* I couldn't bear the idea of wearing those jeans that are slightly too big now (as I walk the crotch area goes down to mid-thigh or something ridiculous like that, I'm not a gangsta boy) one more day, so I was fussing around in my closet for a non-ratty pair that would be a bit smaller. I found my old size 4s, and ... they fit! They're a bit more snug than I'd like and they're not at all the style I enjoy (normal waist, no flare), but still. YAY.

* In a little over two weeks, I will be on vacation. Wheeeee! (Though that means there are only 3 weeks or so to work on your fics for DG Feast!)

* Prince of Persia 2 ships tomorrow! Supposedly.

Things to feel not-so-happy about:

* From the reaction on my flist, it would appear that Alexander is not worth watching. This distresses me. I mean ... Colin! Colin and Jared kissing! I don't understand how it could be bad. Oh well.

* My good VCR, the old one that made it possible to tape things off of DVDs and other VCRs and what not, has died. Last night I donned my Amateur VCR Repairer hat and thought I'd found the source of the problem (omg there are so many little PARTS to a stupid VCR, I thought I'd never put it back together), only after I fixed it, it still didn't work. *cries* Oh, and also I electrocuted myself because I was playing with the damn thing plugged in. It was only for a split second, but I fully expect that you'll see me win one of those Darwin awards some day. I love this VCR so much that it's possible I will have to go see if anyone will repair it, and I will pay that cost rather than the cost for a new one (I got one at Target, and as expected, it fuzzes out when you try to record off my DVD player).

* T-Mobile. I cannot stress enough how heinous they are. They have some of the most terrible customer service I have ever encountered. Since an incident nearly three months ago, I have gotten nothing but stonewalling and a complete and utter unwillingness to help from them. The company has no integrity, doesn't value its customers, and demonstrates a marked lack of sound business tactics. I've been a model customer for over two years, and instead of that helping me, it was apparent from all the people I've spoken with that it was a liability. At the end of my required period with them, I am leaving no matter the incentive. I have never been treated so appallingly; I've never experienced such tactics at the hand of a large, thriving business that has nothing to lose and everything to gain by exhibiting even one iota of understanding toward its customers. As long as you don't encounter a circumstance in which you need to contact customer care, you probably wouldn't notice anything amiss, but I have so learned my lesson. I could not in good conscience recommend them to anyone. Well ... maybe my worst enemies. They made me so upset and frustrated yesterday that I CRIED after I got off the phone with them. That pisses me off. The only people who are allowed to make me cry during an argument is my parents, damn it.

I wish I could say the five good things outweigh the three bad things, but bad things have a way of festering.

I like this, should be a meme.

Something that always makes me happy:

* Cats. Just let me pet one of them and everything is right with the world.

Five things that make me happy right now:

* The new CD from my sister's favorite artist, Luis Eduardo Aute, is playing in my PC right now. Incredibly cool stuff. I now know what I want for Christmas.

* I only have three more pending issues at work, and I won't have any new assignments. If I work hard these three days, I only have to come to the office to surf the web the next two weeks.

* Got Metal Gear Solid 3 dirt cheap last week. Haven't had time to play it much, but just knowing I can have sweet, sweet Snake Sneaking Action during Christmas makes me happy.

* I'm watching Buffy S2 & S3, borrowed from a close friend. I'm now an official Xander/Cordelia shipper, even if I already reached the point where they broke up because Xander and Willow have no control whatsoever over their hormones. Honestly, young people these days...

* My secret santa brought me a Crunch Nestle Bar. I love Crunch Nestle Bars. I even was able to eat it without feeling guilty about all those calories :p

This shouldn't be part of the meme, but what the hey. Things that make me unhappy right now:

* Insecurities because of moving. But hey...

* No PoP2 for me. Not enough money. Will get it as soon as it drops price next year, tho'. Unless I don't. ;_;

Hello! Random stranger, here!

Friending you because I've wanted to do so for a long while. I love your writing.

Have also plugged the Feast Fic contest in my journal.
Hope this is okay. :D

Thanks so much for pimping the Feast! I appreciate it muchly. :D Welcome to the madness, and I must say I commiserate with your friend about Natalie Portman. ; ) I've had plenty of male friends wax rhapsodic over her, and while that hasn't embittered me about NP, I can certainly see why it would. Anyway, it's nice to meet you!

Thanks for the welcome!

I actually don't mind NP, but the rant cracked me up. Especially the bit about peeing pink lemonade and baby angels flying out of her ass. :D

PP! Jeans! Holidays! Ryan! *joyous jazzy hand flailing (it felt like a jazzy hand moment...)!*

As for the other news...carry on being soothed by The Ryan. *g* Is it me or are the DVD people taking an inordinate amount of time releasing The Notebook?

Dude, I have been bitching to Jade about TN DVD for 4EVAH. I think it did a lot better in theaters than they were expecting, so they kept it out longer, and maybe they're also scrambling to put extra features on the DVD? Jade found an article about it and there are going to be deleted scenes ... or maybe I just dreamed that ... anyway, if they don't put the deleted bath scene (I know it exists!!), it ain't going to be pretty.

I'm also waiting for Harold & Kumar. Why that one isn't on video yet is totally mystifying.

You did not dream it. It's due out February (February! Honestly.) and I did some research and found a DVD release site that confirms deleted scenes to be a fact.

We will riot if they leave off the bathtub scene. RIOT, I say.

Ugh at T-mobile doing you SO very wrong, man, especially after Jade and I got it. Sigh.

Also, Fo loved Alexander. (I'm sure that will make you run out and see it, seeing as his opinion on movies is impeccable!)

Also also, good luck w/ the VCR of Greatness. Hope your ecosystem isn't compromised!!

Yuck at your bad T-mobile phone experience (I use it too but haven't had problems with the phone so no biggie), but whatever you do, don't switch to AT&T wireless, because you'll never be able to even reach customer service, they will only put you on hold for TWO hours and never answer, and also charge you for all kinds of things you never signed up for. Why yes, I'm bitter.
