Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] annibug for this cool scrollbar code thingy. And now I shall abuse it by writing a reaaaaaaaalllllllly long entry (or by spelling 'really' really long).

It suxors to be [livejournal.com profile] jade_okelani, because it means you left me with all of the Tim Tams we were supposed to share. I suppose I could package some of them up and send them to you ... I could. But I won't. Hahahahhahaa. *eats one. slowly.*

I've written two more drabbles for [livejournal.com profile] malfoy100 -- my goal is to have something for each challenge (so, at least one a week). I'm often too verbose in my writing, and I'd like to practice the technique of being succinct. But sometimes I get frustrated that something beautiful/meaningful in my head comes out sounding choppy/trite because of the limited number of words I can use. Or, it might just be my writing. Here's "Recognition" and "The Spy," both at the same link.

We're reading Good Omens at [livejournal.com profile] literocracy, and I love it. YAY for Literocracy voters.

Gmail accounts: Like everyone else, I have a billion invites now. Six, a billion, it's all the same. So if you're one of the last hold outs and would like Gmail, let me know. I'd like to benefit people who I at least vaguely know through my journal first before offering up to random people on the street. :D

And lastly, I feel compelled to share 10 of my favorite albums of all time, so here they are (in no particular order):

- Unearthed, e.s. posthumus
- Silence, Tara MacLean
- Purple, Stone Temple Pilots
- Dookie, Green Day
- Fumbling Toward Ecstasy, Sarah McLachlan
- Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park
- Let Go, Avril Lavigne
- New Miserable Experience, Gin Blossoms
- Decade, Duran Duran
- The Visit, Loreena McKennitt

The scrollbar makes some of your text disappear into your icon, though...

Send the TimTams. *g*

Albums: I can't believe you didn't mention Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits!

:O

But it looks perfect on mine!! I think you just have a freakish monitor.

I'm not sending any Tim Tams. They're ALL MINE.

I can't believe you didn't mention Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits!

How is that never speaking of it again?????

THAT wasn't what we were never speaking of. It was the part where we sang along with a particular song. Besides, I already broke the vow so I'm out. *g*

My monitor ROXORS. If it doesn't look good on my beeyootiful 19" flat screen, it's not right, man.

I'm at work, so I am also on a beeyootiful 19" flat screen. I don't think it actually has anything to do with the problem. <g>

It works/looks perfect on mine. I've tried manipulating browser size, etc. Maybe it's our screen resolutions. Mine is set at 1280 x 1024 currently...

I'm guessing that it's because I use a different LJ style than you do... I have the icon in the top right of the entry, where I think you have it outside it, right? So it wouldn't affect yours.

See?

Ahhh. Yeah, that did it. I wonder if there's a way to work around that, or if this is just one of the limitations. Damn. I'm gonna try and figure it out. Damn your eyes.

Edit: Yeah, I've 'fixed' it now. Except it looks lame on my own journal, with all that blank space. Guess I won't be using this feature again. SIGH.

Still looks the same for me, but anyway, it was just ... an *extra* scrollbar, when I already have one. Y'know?

send the tim tams

Good Omens is one of the funniest books you'll ever read. It is amazingly brilliant. If I hadn't thought Neil Gaiman was a god beforehand because of the Sandman series, I definitely felt that way after reading GO and Stardust.

I ♥ Neil Gaiman.

Good Omens! Huzzah! I just finished reading it, and frankly, I must now go to buy it. Cause it rocks.

"...Gayer than a tree full of monkeys on Nitrous Oxide."
"A million [i'm paraphrasing as best i can] sushi dinners cried out for vengance..."

^^

Happiness.

The scrollbar thingie is cute, but the text gets lost in your icon. Does this disqualify me from a gmail invite? If you have any left, that is. *g*

Naturally not. Where would you like me to send it? :D

As for the scrollbar ... Robbie has informed me of the sad limitation, which appears on some LJ styles (usually ones that have the usericons on the right-hand side). I don't think I'll be using it again.

Thanks, hon!

hi, i know its probably unlikely that you have any more gmail invites left, but if you do, and don't mind giving one to a complete stranger, my friend would LOVE a gmail account, and her email address is sabrina_haegi@hotmail.com
thanks a bunch!
