I have Gmail account invites (guess Google went nuts today :D), and I'd like to give a few away. Well, maybe "barter" is a more accurate term. <g>
If you don't know what the heck Gmail is, read all about it here. Essentially it's Google's new email service, which is currently in beta. You can only get an account by invitation. My favorite things about it: 1) the 1GB of storage, which means I can do far less deleting (their motto is "Never delete another email message!" but I don't think they quite understand my email volume); 2) it groups conversation threads; 3) it checks for new mail automatically.
Anyway, the first three people to respond to this post with ONE of the following things will receive an invite:
I was going to make the word count requirement on the fic fewer, but then I figured it wouldn't be fair to artists. :-S
Schmooches to all of you! :D

Date: 2004-06-21 08:32 pm (UTC)It became more obvious when Sydney was captured. In all honesty I thought it would have been her who broke and gave an indication of their relationship, she's always been more...emotional than him even though she likes to think she's made of stone. I think stoic is the word she uses. He was always the one who could hide behind his eyes, except this time he couldn't. He stayed awake for 48 hours and broke my coffee cup when he threw it against the wall after Vaughan said something to him about it being his fault. He slipped a little, but only a little. He waited until everyone but me had left the room.
When we got her back, the first eyes she sought were his, and I was amazed again that no one else saw what was there. He smiled at her, even when Michael ran to hug her, and he kept smiling as he turned and walked away. He and I knew Michael didn't have a chance. Jack cornered me an twenty three minutes later and demanded to know if anything was going on. I played dumb, made a joke and wandered off. Syd found me thirteen minutes after that and thanked me for not saying anything, then she leaned in and whispered that tonight was their one year anniversary. I think she just needed someone to tell.
Nineteen days later Jack and Syd had a fierce, angry whispered arguement in the middle of the control room, they seemed incapable of containing their arguments to private, enclosed spaces. Marshall beckoned me over form where I was watching on the other side of the room with Michael, and asked me if I'd heard about what Sloane was up to. I had. I had heard that morning. It was what the fight happening that very moment was about.
