If a wizard is sleeping with a witch while he is polyjuiced as another wizard, and the witch gets pregnant, whose kid is it?

For example, if, say, Draco is polyjuiced as Harry, and sleeps with Ginny, and Ginny gets pregnant, then does the child have Draco's DNA or Harry's?

Callie's not a D/G shipper, and it's unlikely she'll be using this hypothetical as the basis for a real fic (at least, not w/ the characters mentioned <g>), so please try and refrain from the "OMG PLZ WRITE THIS D&G BELONG 2GETHER 4EVER" variety of comments. Not that I would any of you would ever do that.

I'm with the majority of the respondents so far, in thinking that any resulting child of such a union would be Draco's. Polyjuice appears to simply be an appearance-altering potion; it doesn't actually change who you are. But even if you wanted to argue that physically, every part of you changes (though Callie points out that your brain/mind doesn't change), so it would actually be Harry's sperm, we know that Polyjuice doesn't last forever; eventually you change back. So even if it were Harry's sperm that initially penetrates Ginny's egg, I would say that when the potion wears off, the sperm changes back to Draco's.

Unless the Powers of Darkness are at work and are determined to make it H/G. But in such a situation, it'd be fun to watch Draco angst about it, if he were so inclined. I mean, he brings it upon himself, really... <g>

Hrm. I'd be inclined to say it's Draco's, as it's a disguise and not a permanent change. Fake-Moody has a missing eye and leg, but as Barty Crouch, he still possesses both of these items, which says to me that the potion does not work on a DNA level - otherwise, Barty would look like Moody would without the scars and missing body parts.

Hey Sarea, this is thena currently on a public computer. This is an interesting point, but this reminds me a lot of the conception of King Arthur. Merlin disguised Uther so he could enter Cornwall's castle and shag Igraine while he was still "Cornwall" and of course, the sperm resulted in Arthur which is what Uther wanted in the end. Good points though. Bye!

I am a devoted fan to you D/G stories.

And btw, I think that it would be Draco's child in this case because even though he's attaining some of Harry's physical traits, he's not exactly aquiring Harry;s DNA, is he? I mean, they even retain their own personalities, so past appearance, they don't really change much at all.

God i can't believe i'm joining in in this debate. I would be also inclined to say its Dracos, but you could spin it b/c pollyjuice does require hair and hair does have DNA ya know so maybe it does change the DNA hence the physical changes. It could make for a very intersting story ya know, not just for the romance either you could have Harry go insane or just trying to ruin Draco's life and killing people in the muggle world pollyjuiced as Draco and leaving DNA. Hmmm i may go write this.....
