Yay! I have found my checkbook, which had gone missing for two months. There was a time when that would have been panic worthy, but in the age of online banking, not such a big deal. If only I could find my passport. WTF did I do w/ that thing? The problem w/ secreting things away so burglars and such can't find them is that you can never find them again, either.
First of all, didn't we already have an episode called 'Underneath'? Or maybe it was 'Beneath' ... in any case, neath was involved.
I have to admit that I was only half paying attention to this ep. I was distracted in the beginning because I had been on the phone w/ Fo while making cocktail meatballs, and they weren't done when the episode began. Then when they were simmering, I started reading the first Unfortunate Events book (again, HOW can these be children's books?) while commercials were on, but sometimes I looked up and it was the show. :D
Oh, poor Gunn. Pooooor Gunn. *weeps* Normally I would be certain they'd get him out in some way, but since the show's been canceled that really might be Gunn's fate forever. How sad would that be?! Plus, in a way, it would be really fitting. One of my favorite lines was Lorne and "But we don't leave anyone beh-- Okay ... I guess that's something we do now." In recent memory, that's been about the only way it's effectively been driven home just how far gone they are wrt Wolfram & Hart. That and "You're already two soldiers down." So chilling.
Illyria bores me. Whenever she talks it's like my ears just shut down. She is not interesting to me, her entire schtick is just so overdrama blah. Plus I never liked Fred/Wes, so his angst about her and now this not-Fred is v. yawn-worthy.
Christian is just not looking as good as he did in the early seasons. Plus he has the unfortunate association w/ Eve. Still hate Eve, though with not as much passion. I like her when she's not wearing quite so much makeup, but her whininess and general dislike-ability are still major factors.
I like Angel. I like Spike. I like Angel and Spike together. But their interactions in this ep were generally, oh how should I put this, BORING.
Lorne: aside from one good line, as boring as ever.
So yeah, my overall score for this ep: boring.
The best thing about watching this episode were all the previews that we were bombarded with. I feel no shame spoiling what they've spoiled w/ previews from the middle of the episode.

And do my eyes and ears deceive me or are we going to get to see some evil foursome action? Action action!
