Oh, fudge! Fudge it. Fudge me.

Ermahgerd, I went to the Seahawks home opener on Sunday! One of my coworkers got tix as a thank you for her work on this series of articles that we've worked on the last 3 years, and she invited me to come with. It was a very cool experience to go to a Seahawks game live, even though it's harder to figure out what is exactly happening on the field than on TV. Our seats were in the 100 level, but near the end zone (kind of kitty corner rather than really end zone), so when the team was on the other side of the field, I couldn't see what the hell was going on and had to look at the big screen. Of course the Seahawks had to stretch it out until the very last seconds, just to ratchet up the drama. I brought ear plugs and had them in the whole time, but honestly it didn't seem that bad other than for really critical moments.
And Russell sprained his ankle, so yay for that... not. Not only is that bad for the Hawks, it's bad for my fantasy team, so now I have to try and get Matt Ryan back, who I had dropped for Jason Witten. Argh. But other than that, I won both of my fantasy matchups this week, which is kind of exciting. In one of them I even pulled out a miraculous win, because I was down by like 40 points and somehow came back to win it. (It helped that I had Carson Palmer as my QB and my opponent had the NE defense, so every time I gained points, he lost points. It was another scenario where I got to have my cake and eat it too, because I wanted the Cards to lose, but Carson to do well.)
My friend and I ate in the stadium, at Kraken Congee. Congee in a football stadium! How awesome is that? It's definitely a hipster variation though, because it was NOT traditional Chinese congee. It had aioli, pork belly, and crunchy corn. It was pretty dang good though, I must say!

I now have a butter bell, and I am very excited about it.

The lye is supposed to arrive tonight, and I'm super excited about making my first batch of soap -- I'm going to do a really standard starter soap, even though I have created my own recipe and I'm eager to try it out.

I finished Orphan Black S4, so with that, I'm all caught up!
- Sigh. I like the show, but only because of Tatiana Maslany. Her talent is phenomenal, and I really enjoy all the clones she plays. That said, the mythology of the show itself, the plot stuff, is nonsensical and utterly wastes her talent and those characters.
- I seriously cannot make heads or tails of whatever the hell all their pseduo-science is supposed to mean. The whole thing with Siobhan's mother (SERIOUSLY??? She actually had to be related to one of the main characters? I mean, I get that they wanted the reveal of the identity of the original or whatever to have impact, but plant it in a different way! Such lazy storytelling, and it didn't really make any sense. All the coincidences that had to happen to make that true is just... beyond anything. Especially because apparently everyone was in the dark about it this whole time) was like, what?
- And I did not really buy Siobhan's reaction to Sarah having "sold" her mother out, and then her need for revenge after her mother was killed. This was the same woman who S THREATENED when they met back up, and there was absolutely no love lost between them. I understand that mother/daughter relationships are complicated, but she literally went from hating her mother in one episode to getting along with her perfectly well in the next. She basically just acted the way they needed her to in that particular episode, rather than actually building the relationship.
- When Evie Cho showed up and she was momentarily the big bad, and then Siobhan's mother was killed, I really threw my hands up. I was like, none of this is ever going to make sense, so I have to stop thinking about it.
- She let Cosima go, despite Cosima probably being the other side's most valuable asset, and then later says that Sarah and her cronies are too dangerous to let live. Um, what? Then why wouldn't she have just killed Cosima when she had the chance? Gah.
- I still love Alison, but Crystal is a favorite now, too. It was super annoying to me that she HAPPENED to be there when Delphine was shot (oh, how CONVENIENT. AGAIN), but they kind of made up for it when that scientist dude showed up and was like, "What are you even doing here anyway, Crystal?!" Hilarious.
- Speaking of Delphine, oh of COURSE she's alive. Not that I really doubted it, given that we never saw her dead body. But I don't understand who saved her and why, and where she's been living all this time, and why she wasn't able to contact Cosima. Again, WHAT?
- Donnie grew on me this season. I like the relationship he has with Helena, and the episode where he and Alison dig up Leeky's body was great. Although I'm kind of baffled how Leeky's head seemed whole other than the conveniently bitten-out cheek... didn't Donnie shoot him in the head? And his blood and brains went everywhere? His head so should not have been all intact like that.
- That "setup" they created for that crooked cop was SO OBVIOUS. Why wouldn't he have suspected something like that? Of COURSE Alison would just warn them about it!! Honestly.
- Why did Helena leave the Hendricks's? Was it because she felt she was being a burden on Alison (emotionally, at least)? In which case, why did she return? What happened to her "boyfriend" Jesse btw? I loved the part where she buried her other eggs and apologized to them for not realizing she was supposed to fill the canister with liquid nitrogen. :))
- Are they really going to have her carry those babies to term? It's just so creepy to me that her eggs were inseminated by that disgusting religious dude.
- Sarah was SUCH A BITCH when it came to Felix's bio sister. Then again, he was kind of a bitch too. I guess they felt like Sarah and Felix had gotten along too well all these years, so some kind of family rift had to happen? On the one hand, I thought Sarah was really unnecessarily antagonistic. On the other hand, I sort of couldn't blame her, because shit keeps happening to them; I wouldn't trust any new person, either. Also, Felix should really have been wary, instead of being willing to accept any person who shows up, on their say so. It would not have hurt him to be more cautious and have Adele's DNA tested before anyone else even suggested it. It just would have been the smart thing to do, given the world they live in, and it would have enabled him to trust him and tell Sarah, "It's taken care of." Basically they were stubborn asses who apparently were asses for the sake of creating strife and tension between them.
- Welp, guess I was wrong about Kira and how they might be tired of having a child actor around. Too bad they've never actually delivered on all these "special" powers that she has, story wise. I guess maybe they could do that in S5? Funny that they got rid of Cal, though, and didn't even bother to explain why/how. I guess after being such a great dad and partner for Sarah out of nowhere, he's fine with the fact that they've just disappeared. I mean seriously, what?? I really don't like the way the show just makes things true to make it true, without doing any of the work to actually have it make sense.
- I'm so tired of the Cosima is sick! Cosima will be cured! No she won't! Yes she will! roller coaster. I've just lost interest in it, and I don't like her enough as a character to want more than anything for her to be alive.
- The whole thing with Rachel's mom -- what?! Why did she abandon Rachel? The "cold" mother they tried to portray was the OPPOSITE of the mother they portrayed in that video of Rachel having a normal childhood. Again, they're just rewriting things to make it what they want, instead of what they actually established.
- And wow that Rachel has gone full evil. I suppose it's fitting that one of the clones would be the ultimate big bad, but I had always harbored a slight hope that she would be able to come around at some point and join her "sisters."
- I feel sorry for Ira. Feel like he drew the short end of the stick on a lot of stuff. Also am curious to see if anything comes of this fertilized egg of his and Sarah's.
