I now have to go on a really dramatic rant about... fantasy football. I am so mad at myself. :( I finally joined a real league -- one run by the friend of a coworker -- and was really looking forward to it. I've joined a bunch of nothing leagues, but that one is at least with someone I knew, and money (a small amount) is involved. The draft date crept up on me and... I MISSED IT. :((((( crycrycry Also, I HATE ESPN!!!! First you do the dumbass Michael Sam showering habits story (poor Michael, seriously), and now this. *All* my other fantasy leagues (on Yahoo and NFL) send me reminder mails the day before my draft starts. ESPN SENT ME NOTHING. EFF YOU, ESPN.

So what happened was terrible. Well, relatively speaking, of course. I had done some pre-draft rankings, so that helped it be not quite so awful, but the auto-picker is stupid. It doesn't know how to think, obviously, so what ended up happening was that I drafted a ton of Seahawks. That is really dumb for a fantasy football team. >< They all have the same bye week, they're competing with each other for points/yardage, etc. ARGH!!! Plus, it's going to be soooo hard to decide who to start! If I start Kearse and not ADB, but ADB does well, I'll feel like ADB will be on my shoulder saying, "See, that's what you get for not believing in me." And if I do the reverse, imaginary!Kearse will be like, "It's okay. No one thinks I'm as good as Doug. :(" So then I'll end up starting them both, which will probably be a disaster for me points wise.

Anyway. I could go on all day about my frustration with what happened. :( Instead I'll just share my draft results:

QB: Drew Brees (NO) (not complaining about this one)
Backup QB: Alex Smith (KC) (could have done worse, but I really wanted Russell Wilson /cry)

Running backs: Marshawn Lynch (SEA), DeAngelo Williams (CAR)

Wide receivers: Percy Harvin (SEA), Doug Baldwin (SEA), Jermaine Kearse (SEA), Hakeem Nicks (IND), Tavon Austin (STL), Paul Richardson (SEA), Marquise Lee (JAC) (4 Seahawks receivers is effing ridiculous -.- Eff you, ESPN auto drafter)

Tight end: Jordan Cameron (CLE) (this is such an iffy selection because Cleveland's tight end situation is murky... he's even listed as "probable" to play. ARGH! And I don't even have a backup TE!)

Defense: Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills (I'm realllllly mad about this one... I wanted the Seattle defense and would have taken them early, NOT when the draft picker started doing it. Ughghghghgh)

Kicker: Adam Vinatieri (IND), Matt Prater (DEN) (This is the one I am most incensed about. Prater was one I had really wanted to avoid, and thought I had removed him from my pre-draft rankings, but apparently I didn't. He's serving a fucking DUI for the first 4 games, which makes him useless during that period, and also I think he's an idiot and didn't want him on my team.)

So basically, everyone else in the league got to take advantage of my idiocy and random draft choices to get all the players they wanted. :( Gah.

My coworker says I can trade players, but it makes no sense to me to do that. No one would want my players, because anyone I'd actually trade, no one would want, because they wouldn't have been hotly desired players. UGH.

I guess this is a lesson for me to put my draft date on my own calendar, and not rely on fucking ESPN to give me a heads up. Too bad it's too late for this season. SIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHH.
