relaxing from work week hell

In just a little bit I'm off to see Master and Commander. I figure it's my last shot if I want to see it before the Oscars, since there's no way I can make it to a theater during the weekday. This is the last week to enter my Oscars contest, should you be so inclined. I'm thinking if this year is successful, I'll do a pool or something next year and really make things interesting. The chance to win more cash than you had makes everything more interesting.
I am very, very put out with
akscully, as she has turned me into a RP shipper. Of FOURTH-GRADERS. So, where previously I would have answered "no" to
sydney_lynne's question of whether I RP ship, I now have to say "very guiltily, yes." And because I believe in lowering others down to reside in the muck where I am, here is the latest between little!Draco and little!Ginny. She also shared w/ me some examples of their conversation in science class the other day, but I can't find them. It's so adorable it kills me. Beige face, Amelia. Beige face.
AtS: Smile Time
- Hate Nina. I just don't like her. It has less to do w/ the actress (who reminds me of Kate, only not even nearly as cool), than it does w/ the fact that BOTH times she's shown up this season, it's been blatantly manipulative. At least this time she was part of a good episode, whereas the other one was completely forgettable. Didn't Cordy just die? Though my dislike of her is extremely peripheral to the C/A, given I wasn't much of a C/A shipper by the end of it, and really really did not like the stupid episode where she did die.
- Other than Nina, I loved this ep. I don't even care to think about it on any deeper level, for fear that I will find things wrong w/ it. It made me laugh and laugh and laugh, and for that, I loved it. VampirePuppet!Angel was the BEST. </Doyle>
- I missed Spike, though. Am a bit put out that he got his ass kicked by a puppet, and that he was only on screen for about 5 min.
- As evidenced by this episode, David Fury should stop writing episodes, and only play puppet to a puppet's puppeteering. Dare you to say that 5 times fast.
- The Wes/Fred was blah. Especially after seeing next week's promo. PUH-LEASE, save me from the manufactured angst.
- Totally agree w/ Jade that everyone telling Angel to grab his chances when they come are stupid. In this case, Wes was really just talking about himself, but it wouldn't be surprising if he meant it wrt Angel, as others have. Hello, if Angel DOES care for a woman, it's best for ALL involved if he stays away. Sucky for Angel, yes, but good for everyone else. Because even if, say, he and Cordy had gotten together, would they have RISKED Angelus by sleeping together? I should really, really hope not. Or if they wanted to give him a romantic interest, it should have been Darla (though the way she went out was really cool). You know. When she's a vamp, he can have her but doesn't want her. When she's not a vamp, he wants her but can't have her. It's the ultimate angst! Though last time she was a vamp, he did sort of want her and it resulted in a not-quite-vampire baby.
- Still, Connor was one of the most awesome things to happen to the show and they just completely ruined him by getting him involved w/ the Jasmine mess. The saddest thing about AtS being canceled is that I can't even hold out HOPE that they might yet fix things w/ him. I mean, he's still the child of two vampires, right? Even if he were living as a normal human, he'd still have the super-sensitive hearing and strength, right? I guess these are details we are supposed to gloss over. Hmph.
- Though I hear there are talks w/ UPN. If it does go to another network, I must insist that they bring Connor back.
- How I suddenly started on this when I was talking about "Smile Time," I don't really know.

I've just moved into a new office and spent much of yesterday setting everything up the way I wanted. I never realized how many post-it notes I had in my possession. You know that guy whose friends covered all his belongings and his entire apt in tin foil? I could have done it in post-it notes.

where." Him: "Right *there*!" *points* Her: *rolls

Him: "No, you should color the water *there*. It
didn't go over there at all." Her: "That's where it
went." Him: "No, it didn't." Her: "Yes, it did. I
saw it." Him: "Ms. Saaaaaaaaxe!" Me: *trying
desperately to hold back my manical laughter* "Yes?"
Him: "She put the water in the wrong place." Me:
*looks* "I don't think she did." Her: *sticks out her
tongue at him* Him: "Whatever."
The blame for this rest squarely on you.
