D00ds! I've done it! I've made my own pasta! It's something I've always wanted to do but felt too intimidated by, despite having had the pasta roller/cutter attachments to my KitchenAid mixer for years. -.- All the snow days finally inspired me, I guess.

Details about making it and what not on my food blog. :D
This was actually my second attempt. My first attempt was a very plain and simple egg pasta and I didn't take any pictures. It was delicious though. I made this second batch with the purpose of long-term storage.
Recently on Tippr they had one of those sunrise alarm clocks. I'm one of those SAD people (self diagnosed) and I've long wanted something like this. I bought it without doing any research on it, and unfortunately since then I've learned that this particular brand, people either love or hate. Sigh. You'd think as a regular online shopper I would have learned to research first, buy later, by now.
OK, so I've finished Death Note Vol. 7 and am now on 8.
- Wow. WOW. I can't believe he killed L, just like that. I guess the writer recognized that the whole L/Light back and forth was running the end of its course (and getting pretty tedious). It was pretty satisfying to see Light "win."
- However, now we have L II, with Near. SERIOUSLY WITH THESE ENGLISH NAMES UGHGHGHGHGHGH. "Near" is an adverb! It is not a name!! And there was, what, Quillsh Wammy. WTF kind of name is that?! None of the English names are real names!! With the exception of Joe McEnroe, of course, but that's not even his real name. -.- I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does. Near, in particular. Because when I see that, I don't even register it as a name. I keep going, "Near? Near what? What are they say-- ohhhhhh yeah that's his stupid NAME."
- Shouldn't Misa be dead by now? Was she supposed to live until 200 or something? I mean, let's say that she was supposed to live until 90. She made the trade with Rem, which gives her a lifespan of 45. She made it again with Ryuk, which means she should be dead at 22 1/2! Isn't that how old she is? I thought she was similar in age to Light. I suppose her lifespan could have been 100, in which case she still has a few years to go, assuming she's around Light's age.
- Are Near and Mello (another stupid name) L's brother and sister? I mean, Near is pretty much a replica of L. I doubt they were his kids, since they were living in an orphanage, and also L himself didn't seem that old... in fact, he passed for Light's age since they enrolled in the same university. Also he seemed gay/asexual.
- How old is Near supposed to be? I always found it difficult to swallow that the Japanese NPA/police were following the directives of someone so young... but now the FBI has no qualms following the directives of what appears to be an 11 year old?! -.-
- I just don't know how this is all going to end. I can't imagine it not ending with Light's defeat, since the subtext is that he's evil and what he's doing is not right, and yet he's the series protagonist. I wouldn't feel happy/satisfied if he just bit it/was defeated at the end!
