My shoulder is bothering me again. Argh! I think this means I need to just suck it up and go the route of having them inject steroids into the area. That's what my physical therapist suggested (she thinks it'll just solve the problem once and for all), but I've been avoiding it because I don't like the idea of being injected with steroids like I'm a pro baseball player, and it was getting better for a while. :/ SIGH. Also they're changing our health plan benefits at work, so if I'm going to do it, I should do it now.
It's gotten very cold, very quickly (or so it seems to me). Last night I was wearing three layers to bed. I try to resist turning on the heater for as long as possible because otherwise I get used to it and then I have to turn it on every day. It's only October! There are months of coldness to get through!
Had a really lovely dinner withslitherhither at Dahlia Lounge last night. That place is so yummy. We each had 3 cups of coffee afterward. Tonight I'm going to Tilth with my cousin. Never been there before, so that'll be fun.
- There is a new badass in town, and his name is DAVID ANDERS. OMG I was so excited when he showed up. He's gotten a bit puffier since he was on Alias, and I miss his British accent (like James Marsters, he did a very good one), but he's still a badass. I love the idea of him and Damon facing off. Not sure I get his game just yet, but... that's okay.
- I can't believe how much crap has happened just in the first season. So much intrigue and twists and turns and etc. It's a little busy but working so far.
- Ugh, in the last episode Elena just perpetrated one of the most annoying human girl stereotypes -- running in to save her loved one despite being told that she would only be a liability. What is it with STUPID HUMAN GIRLS and their inability to understand that they are working against EXTREMELY POWERFUL supernatural forces, and that not only are they utterly useless against such forces, but only GET IN THE WAY of the people who are trying to help them??? Seriously, please give me ONE human girl one of these days who understands that. Because it doesn't make her look brave or useful; it only makes her look IMMATURE and STUPID.
- It is really lame and annoying that despite being told that because Stefan doesn't drink human blood, he's not as strong a vampire as Damon, and yet we repeatedly see Stefan get the better of people (like catch the stake Alaric shoots at him) while Damon gets shot by Logan Fell, is beat up on by Lexi's boyfriend, etc. Very, very annoying.
- There's a little more Damon/Elena now, which is fun, but also not because, like Caroline, I just don't see what is so freaking great about Elena in the first place. I mean, literally, what attracted Stefan (and Damon) to her was her resemblance to Katherine. Sorry but that is a really weak and lame basis for falling in love with someone, even if they did the whole "No, I love you for YOU" thing. Elena has awesome hair. That's about all I can say for her.
- Bonnie has pretty much disappeared. Is she supposed to be off mourning Jasmine Guy?
- Ohmygod I wish Jeremy would die already. The actor has the most ANNOYING voice, he's the teenage guy whose voice constantly sounds like it's about to crack. Plus he has an annoying personality. OMG let GO of Vicki already. I can't believe he wanted to be turned to be with her. What. a. loser.
- Peripherally speaking of Anna, I like her a lot more as a vampire than the pushy chick into Jeremy. But seriously, WHO wants to spend eternity with their mother? I can't even believe after over 100 years of being on her own, she'd want to be treated like a child again. It's believable -- to an extent -- that that mother/daughter dynamic would still be there after all this time, but man, if I had to be "the kid" for the rest of infinity? I'd so go off on my own.
- I was liking Matt/Caroline, but I can see that it's just not going to work. Poor Matt. His life sucks. His mom's a two-bit whore, his sister was a drug addict-turned-vampire-turned-dead, the girl he loves dumped him, his best friend is a total douchebag, etc.
- As I mentioned before, Caroline's probably my favorite female character. I really feel for her. I just hope they don't turn her into Harmony.
