Okay, I finished BSG S2! Apparently there are webisodes in between S2 and S3, and since S3 is downloading at a snail's pace, I'll need to find/watch them. Just a couple of comments on the S2 finale eps...
- Apparently Starbuck has miracle hair growth. In only a year's time it's like practically down to her waist, when she had just a short bob before.
- WTF, she married Anders? Obviously he's not long for this world. Either he'll die of the pneumonia he has or in some mission, cuz there's no way they're destined to be together forevermore. It's obvious they intended the OTP to be Starbuck/Apollo from the beginning, and again I must insert my puzzlement as to why they had the two of them fall in love with Anders/Dee in S2.
- Hmm wonder what happened between Starbuck and Apollo to get them estranged.
- What are Caprica 6 and Sharon's plans? Still that Cylons and humans can happily coexist? Nice thought, but there would be no conflict if that actually came to pass, so I'm going to guess that that's not going to happen any time soon.
- I was very impressed w/ the scene between Sharon and Caprica 6 in Sharon's old apartment, when she talks about love and what it is and how she betrayed the people that she loved. I don't know if she's going to turn out to be an enemy to humanity after all, but I hope not. It's her desire to be human and rise above what she is that sets her apart, the same way I felt for Spike when he rose 'above' what he was by being capable of love, even without a soul.
- Baltar is obviously the Worst President Ever. I still don't know what his ultimate goal/purpose is. Is it possible that Roslin is just going to remain a schoolteacher? It just doesn't seem right that she's not the president. :/
- How's Galactica/Pegasus going to get to everyone they left behind? I would even believe them to just jump away the same way they initially did with Caprica when the Cylons attacked, but they've done that storyline before. Plus there are too many regulars still in New Caprica: Starbuck, Roslin, the Chief and Cally (who bugs me), Baltar, Tigh, Gaeta, and of course the half human/half Cylon baby.
- I hope S3 is better than S2 was. I liked it, but not as much as I liked S1. Character development was minimal, the storylines were less compelling, and it just seemed more depressing.
I'd really like to join a book club, one that meets in person. I don't know if there's a really good one near me, or if people even do that amongst strangers anymore. I'd also like to volunteer at like, a soup kitchen or a library, but it seems like most places have more volunteers than they need already. Gosh!
Today from the cafeteria I am having blackened catfish, mashed potatoes made with blue/purple potatoes (it's so pretty!), and steamed broccoli/cauliflower. It's actually pretty good. I must say, our office move in one sense has been great -- this cafe is a lot better than our other one! Also for a limited time 12oz lattes, mochas, etc. are $1 from the espresso bar. :O I am going to be so wired...
