Somehow I am dry despite all the rain.

I am almost done with House S5. This season has been pretty meh. I don't like the new Cottages as much as I liked the old ones, even though they're still around too. The dynamic just isn't as good. I liked Cutner (Kutner?) the most, but of course he had to go and quit acting to work for Obama, so then they had his character randomly commit suicide... which has led to, so far, the most anti-climactic House finale yet. House has always had really, really good finales, and it's possible that the final episode may yet blow me away, but so far all the stuff leading up to it has been kind of tepid.
It's been a week, and so far there's been no significant, visible change to the garden. I know, it's only been a week. I'm just impatient! It's been raining a lot, which I don't think is actually a good thing ... it might be overwatered, some of the leaves are turning yellow, which I think I read somewhere means overwatering. Still, the plants are all still alive, which given my brown thumb, is a positive thing in itself. Also, I think the beet leaves look less pathetic than they did when I first planted them, so that's good too.
Speaking of beets, my cousin and I went to the 3-for-$30 at Anchovies & Olives last week, and ended up not doing the special at all but ordering off their regular menu, because the prices weren't that high and the items off the regular menu sounded more appetizing. Anyway, we got this beet salad with pistachios and anchovy dressing that was sooooooooo yum. We also got a fried baby hake with salsa verde, raw geoduck with avocado cream, and a seafood pasta dish. We both agreed that the beet salad was the best thing.
I'm about halfway through A Feast for Crows...
- Littlefinger is getting a little weird with Sansa, just as we probably all expected he would. A kiss to break his fast, indeed. I do hope that Sansa does learn to become good enough to beat him at his own game, especially since he seems to trust her implicity.
- What's even more interesting though is that Littlefinger is openly (to Sansa) playing the game of thrones. He can't hope to rule Westeros himself, being low born (can he?), so the only alternative is that he's grooming Sansa to become Queen (and also therefore sort of rule by her side, either as her Hand, possibly, or her king?).
- The interesting thing about that is the prophecy that Cersei was told as a young girl by that hag, about a woman younger and more beautiful deposing her. Prior to all this happening with Sansa, I would have thought the obvious answer is that this younger/more beautiful woman is Daenerys. Now I'm wondering if it's Sansa. It's obviously not Margaery Tyrell as Cersei believes.
- I've neglected to say this for awhile now: I love Podrick Payne! He's such a funny little cutie. So different from his relative Sir Ilyn, lol.
- Brienne is growing on me, as is the Brienne-Jamie friendship.
- Sooooo bored with the Greyjoys and all their clansmen. Asha is the only rational one among them, and they just picked Euron to be their king. Plus there's still Theon, who's out there somewhere. No way he's dead.
- What is going to become of Arya? I'm frankly getting a little bored with her storyline now too. What exactly is she going to accomplish in Braavos? At least she's left the temple now, even if she hasn't left it, left it. Her stuff prior to leaving Westeros was always interesting, full of adventure. Now it's ... not. I always find it interesting that neither she nor Sansa seem to bear any real love for the other, not even hoping that the other is OK or alive out there somewhere, or looking for each other. I wonder if that's going to come into play at some point.
How much does my new Back to the Future mood theme rock, lol? I LOVE the tired icon, haha.
