Much love and thanks to
sydney_lynne, for her fantabulous fic "Happy Birthday, Ginny," a sweet story that manages to be hot at the same time. What better combo is there? Have I mentioned lately how lucky I am? Well, I am. I feel blessed to be around such cool, talented people. And I'm nice. Am so nice that I haven't even come down on
jade_okelani for not finishing her story yet. You know, the one she started for my birthday that she promised days ago, and which I haven't seen a single word for since. Nope, am not putting her on any guilt trips at all.
Am a bit miffed that all the stuff I've ordered online has arrived, except for the one thing I really want: Quidditch World Cup. However, am enjoying my Simpsons Xbox games immensely. They're hysterical! Also can't wait to play Buffy 2: Chaos Bleeds.
Angel: Okay, so ... Philes probably know what I'm talking about when I say that this ep was like a cross between 'El Mundo Gira' and 'The Unnatural.' Only, not as interesting as either of those (and in the case of EMG, that's saying a lot). There were a lot of reasons to like the ep, as Jade detailed in YM:
jadeokelani: I really liked the ep because it had everyone working together, fairly good amounts of screentime for all, EXCEPT LORNE who had one pointless scene in the trailer, and then was totally absent from ther est of the ep, and I didn't miss him or realize it until it was over, and then I was happy. There was a HINT of Spred, and we got a Wesley/Angel friendship conversation that further acknowledges that Wes has no memory of the betrayl between them, but Angel does. Spike was funny, and yet also has a nice almost poetic moment or two (speaking with Wes, and then later, when he realizes the heart is the demon's weakness) and there's all the acknowledgement of the Shanshu prophecy, and what it might mean, and whether it's Spike or Angel or whatever.
All of that is true and I did like those things. But overall? Eh. It's more what those things represent for future storytelling that I liked, than what their presence did in this ep.
Okay, I am slightly over my trauma yesterday from the Tom pic. I've gotten a bit more used to it, though I still won't go so far as to say that I think he looks attractive. His hands and the Slytherin rings are the selling points. And I meant to mention this yesterday, but got distracted amidst all the wailing and bemoaning: I've thought so since SS -- Goyle is kind of hot, man.
akscully prefers Crabbe, but I think it's all about Goyle. Wouldn't this make a great fic, though? Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle: Slytherin Studs, breakers of hearts everywhere. Oh, now I've made myself giggle.
Have you guys seen the YM rendition of the Evil Trio?
calliope14 must be credited for this one:
