Truth or Lie Answers
Oct. 15th, 2003 10:13 amI can't believe what a big fat liar you all think I am! Hahahahaha. I love you, too. You might be interested to know that there was only one lie in the lot. :D (Unless you count the last one about many lies, but I'm confused whether that would be considered a "lie" or not.)
So, since it's been over 24 hours, here are the answers to this poll...
I once thought I wanted to be in federal law enforcement and interned at Interpol.
This is not a lie. First choice was the FBI. Interpol was a really cool place to intern. We went to Quantico (training academy for the FBI and DEA) and saw a lot of buff DEA men doing shooting exercises and such. It was loffly. Can you imagine me armed? I left this dream behind when it became apparent that it would be next to impossible for me to be a field agent due to my eyesight (I wear contacts, and most FLE agencies require 20/20 vision ... I think Secret Service allows 20/40 ... and at the time, getting PRK surgery disqualified you!). I didn't want to be a gov't desk jockey because it didn't pay all that well, and the novelty of the work lost most of its shine after the first month or so. <g> I might have stayed on if I could have done forensic science or something, but alas I didn't major in bio. Wish UCLA had had a criminology major.
The first ship I shipped in the HP fandom was that most heinous of ships, D/Hr.
Sadly, this is true. I walked in thinking the canon ships were R/Hr and H/G, but neither of them appealed to me on a fanfic level. "Draco Dormiens" got me into D/Hr, but luckily that only lasted a couple of days as I read "Draco Sinister" immediately afterward, and I found a much more compelling ship. :D
I once ate really delicious cheesecake off the floor of my apt.'s hallway with a neighbor.
Hee. Didn't trick seven of you. This is indeed false. This did not happen to me; this happened to Rachel on Friends. The only false thing about me in the lot!
I didn't watch Star Wars until I was in college.
This is true, and by that time, everything about the movies that everyone else loved (having seen it with fresh and/or young eyes) seemed tired and trite to me. So yeah, not a SW fan.
My favorite character in HP canon is Professor Snape.
I hate to disappoint eight of you, but this is absolutely true! Snape is totally my fave canon character. :D He makes me laugh, and I think he's awesomely interesting.
I think Jade Okelani is a bitch.
Hahahahaha, this is totally true. I do think she's a bitch. But that doesn't mean I love her any less.
Sean Astin sat directly in front of me in my first college lecture.
This is also true. It was an English lit class. We read "Beowulf." Of course, at that time I only knew him from "The Goonies."
I am left-handed.
I am a lefty, yup.
I took flying lessons until an ill-considered jelly donut caused me to never go back.
I know; it doesn't sound very believable, does it? But it's true. My instructor's name was Joe and he was a skinny blond Swedish guy. Anyway, v. embarrassing: One day I had a jelly donut (my fave at the time) for breakfast, and went up in the air. Was learning how to maneuver the plane in different directions (aka, "turn," but that sounds so boring) that day, and suddenly got very nauseated. Told Joe he was going to have to land the plane, or I would be very sick. Haven't cared for flying (or jelly donuts, for that matter) since.
