movies, food, and Triumvirate
Aug. 11th, 2003 11:41 amFirstly, I wish to say that
triumvirate = more fun than any RPG has a right to be. *smooches to all the wonderful participants, including those who watch our antics* Write,

Last night I dreamt that
sumdumgai died. I was really angry and upset. Angry for the unfairness of it all, because he was on his way to see me or something and accidentally broke his neck. However, I was still somehow able to communicate with him through email or IMs or something, and he was v. impatient w/ me when trying to explain how, just because he didn't have a body, didn't mean he was gone. And I found that somewhat comforting, because it PROVED what we can expect after this life -- that we do live on. But still, I'm glad it was just a dream. Dude, try not to fall or anything.
nmalfoy has declared this to be slash week, wherein we have to slash any two males we want. I'm slashing my bosses, D. and P., because they're pissants and it amuses me. Well, this is probably too harsh on P. Wouldn't want him to have to suffer D.'s attentions. So maybe D. and ... oh, I can't find anyone heinous enough for him. So, I will do a happy slash pairing instead: Scott Bairstow and Devon Sawa (yes, they're brothers in the movie, but they're not really brothers). Mmmmmmm. Why yes, I did recently watch one of my guilty pleasure movies, Wild America, why do you ask? D00D. Devon Sawa. So babelicious when he was younger!! (Apparently I just am a dirty old lady.) Saw him in Now and Then and he was soooo cute. So could have been cast as Draco as a 12-14 year old. And then in WA, 15-17 year old Draco! It went downhill after that. It's such a tragedy. WTF happened to him? He used to be so cute! *weeps*
Finally got my condo refinanced. Jesus. It only took two freaking months.
Went to dinner on Sat. w/ Karen, which we really have to do more often. Went to El Greco, which is one of my favorite restaurants EVER. Greek food. We split (yes I am food obsessed, sorry): lamb skewers, bread salad, pita & hummus, and pistachio-encrusted pork loin w/ mango compote. I salivate to think of it, because I could do that all over again right now. The odd thing is -- the pork was medium rare (it was specified on the menu that it would be that way, so it wasn't mistakenly undercooked), and while I always take my steak that way, it's the first time I've ever had pork that way. I've always heard that pork is the one meat you're supposed to cook all the way through, so eep ... hope I don't die. Then we went and saw Legally Blonde 2, which was cute and stupid but not quite as endearing as Charlie's Angels. I think I liked the first LB more. Partly this is because I know Washington, DC, too well, and it was really distracting (other than the idea of members of Congress being swayed in this fashion). Intellectually I knew they had to do it the way they did it (and I believe it's against the law to duplicate the House/Senate floors or the Oval Office and what have you), but I couldn't keep myself from noticing the little things, which drew my attention away from the movie. Like the fact that House members do not have desks on the House Floor. And the reason they don't have desks is because they don't usually ever spend much time there, unlike what's depicted in the movie -- only when their own bill or one they care about it on the Floor (and then, it's only like 50 people max, if that). They run in, sign a bill, and run out. The only time they actually sit in their chairs, all together, is during the State of the Union address.
Yes, all very interesting, I know. Not. But the point is, it was distracting. It had its moments, though. Jennifer Coolidge rocks.

Date: 2003-08-12 12:36 am (UTC)See, d00d, I told you it was sumdumgai's fault. If he'd just live and let live, I'm sure your hellh--I mean, dog would calm right down, because he wouldn't constantly sense this great force of negative energy trying to destroy his evi--er, immortal soul.
