Carsick dogs and frivolous spending

I'm sad because I went back to the store where I got those awesome donut peaches that I blogged about, and THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANYMORE. :-( I got some regular white peaches/nectarines but it's just not the same. I'll go to another store for more of the donut variety, but I doubt they'll be as big or beautiful. /sad I'll probably spend the rest of my days trying to find donut peaches like that again.
Does anyone else have a dog who gets carsick? Talis used to be very bad about it; threw up nearly every time he got in a car. Reading up about it, it seems that dogs rarely have motion sickness, but rather suffer from anxiety. So I'd take him out every time it was feasible, in order to get him used to it. And he got a lot better and the times he threw up decreased dramatically. In fact, he LOVES going TO the car and the idea of being in it -- he races to the garage door every time I pick up my keys, then hops around the car until I open the door and he eagerly jumps inside -- but he's not so crazy about the driving part (unless I roll his window down). But I bring a towel with me to lay on his seat every time I take him in the car, because he still pukes from time to time. Today was such a day; he seemed perfectly fine and then on our way home, threw up (thank goodness for the towel). Surely he can't be anxious anymore, so is he one of those rare dogs who actually DO get motion sick?! Sigh.
1) My Wii is here! Wheeee! Or rather, Wiiii!! So far I've played Super Smash Bros Brawl, DDR, Guitar Hero, and Sports. I've also created my Mii. Heehee. jade_okelani's Wii is supposed to arrive tomorrow and then there will be online Wiiing, oh yes.
2) My new computer should be arriving tomorrow. I bought myself a new 24" widescreen LCD monitor to go along with it. >.> I actually got a fairly good deal on eBay; it's the Samsung 245BW. It has mostly positive reviews; I hope I'm not going to be one of the detractors.
3) Since I decided to get a Wii, I couldn't really justify getting another Louis Vuitton handbag, even though I love them so. But ... I could justify getting a Coach with matching wallet. >.> See, while Jade and I were in New York, I bought this adorable satchel from a Coach store in their chocolate/white tonal design. Well, first of all, on eBay it's going for half what I paid, grrr. But the same can be said of the Carly handbag and matching wallet in pink/white tonal that I got, woot. And both together cost a fraction what I would have paid for a new LV. I know, it's totally insane.
So yeah. I think I have pretty much blown my entire discretionary budget for this year ... and possibly next. eBay is the devil and it's such a slippery slope.

And of course, I'm thrilled that you're enjoying the food blog (and the other blogs, which are waaaaay better than mine). Food is one of my biggest passions in life (if you couldn't tell)!
As for Portkey Party, thank you for saying that. <3 It's been so long I honestly don't know if people even like or remember the story anymore, but I still "owe" it to the community and feel really guilty about the fact that those who donated to the Katrina fic drive might not even care about it anymore and they didn't get to read it when they did care. For that I totally suck.
