The new computer they ordered for me at work arrived; the specs are v. similar to my machine at home. This will be such a relief when I'm trying to get stuff done, because this laptop is nearly three years old and is clunky as hell. Problem is, after I got it all set up, I couldn't log on. It won't take the password I entered (and I tried several), and it won't let me log on with a blank password. Now they're going to have to wipe the machine and start all over again. Sigh.

Even though Jade made an impressive showing on the favorites meme, she actually did not get everything right. <g> So there's still opportunity for you to get in your guesses, if you want to try your hand.

Re: Charles and Camilla. I can't even believe I'm going to talk about them at all, but every time I see mention of them in the 'news' I get these mixed feelings, so I guess I should just say my peace. How can you not admire a love that has withstood decades? And other marriages, and the things that life throws in the way? If Charles and Camilla were fictional characters (like Draco and Ginny, say), how could I help but cheer them on, all laws of morality aside? Diana's dead, and even if she weren't, she and Charles were divorced and she had started other relationships of her own. She wasn't perfect, and after all this time, he has a right to be happy, too. I know this and tell myself this, because it's utterly logical. However, my gut reaction to them is not based on logic. I don't know what it is, exactly, but C&C turn my stomach. Admiring their love of the ages does not change the fact that I think they're both slimy toads. It's sick that Camilla will be a real-life princess. And stepmother to Diana's kids. Ugh ugh ugh.

I have given up leatherworking. See, one of the reasons I gave it up was because now that I can wear mail, what's the point of having it, if it can't help my character? That was before we discovered that leatherworkers could eventually make MAIL. WTF. As if that's so intuitive. But all is not lost, because -- Jade is still a leatherworker. That was another reason I wanted to give it up; there was really no reason to have two leatherworkers. One is fine to make whatever we need (mostly armor kits).

I've heard enchanting is nothing but a money suck (and from what I've seen, this is true). Our group doesn't need a tailor. We have an engineer, an alchemist, and a blacksmith (sort of). There's nothing that will actually really be of value to me at this stage, except for the occasional things I need for quests here and there, but the auction house pretty much takes care of those. If I need a potion, or a kit, or whatever, Jade or Essia can help with those. What they might not necessarily have are the ingredients for those things, but that's where I come in again. <g>

I have artisan skinning and have started doing herbalism, both of which can help supply the alchemy and leatherworking professions. Anything extraneous I can sell at the AH, which makes pretty good money -- which means that if I really need something, I can use that money to buy it. It makes good sense.

Meanwhile, I have decided to 'buy' my artisan cooking. Almost half the slots at the bank are taken up by food items that I don't want to make yet because I want to get cooking points for them when I do. However, when I went to Tanaris to get the artisan cooking quest, I found out that I needed: 1) zesty clam meat; 2) Alterac Swiss; 3) giant eggs. The first was easily obtained -- both Jade and I got a ton of zesty clam meat from killing nagas. Alterac Swiss can be purchased from a vendor (yay for the cheese shop in SWC!). The eggs, though -- my God, the eggs. So impossible! I was hunting rocs in Tanaris, but they're so hard to find in the first place (and once you find them, they're always surrounded by two other creatures you have to kill also), and not one of them dropped an egg. After about half an hour of this, I was done with it. It's ridiculous; my time is worth more. So I've decided to buy the giant eggs from the AH, don't care what it costs. I think I have enough now, and can complete the quest once I buy the cheese. Thank goodness that monkey is off my back.

I have 55 gold again. Epic mount, here I come! :))

And you were making fun of the cheese shop before.

Only 845 more gold to go! :)) It's nice having my mount. I've actually started buying items off the AH again, which I haven't done in, oh, 20 or so lvls.

:)) It's so hilarious. Why do they even bother to have it? Just to make SURE you're playing the game for years to come? Sigh. I mean, once you have it, you'll certainly be lvl 60, and once you're that lvl, what's the point of playing, anyway?

I've never bought weapons or anything like that from the AH, but yes, now that I feel I can be more free w/ my money ... I'm more free with it. However, I am still unspeakably bitter that the 16-slot backpacks are going for 20+ gold. How much more is it to buy from a vendor? One day, I will have 4 16-slot backpacks. That would be lovely. That will only apparently cost me MORE THAN MY MOUNT. :-l

agree with you totally on C&C...
While their love story is something right out of a modern fairy-tale
There's just something about them that make me cringe.
Also, I happen to be a humongous Diana fan- all her faults aside.
Maybe that's why I find it hard to stomach Camilla... btw- was that peacock she had on her head supposed to be a fashion statement? because I thought it looked hideous.

*hugs*

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of any of them, but I think C&C just offend me as a person and a woman -- the idea of being in a similar circumstance, playing Diana's role (even all the royalty and politics aside), just burns me up. No idea re: Camilla or anything she is or has worn ... I really don't know much about her or them except for the peripherals that everyone knows. I try not to pay too much attention, but it's hard when it's thrown in your face all the time. In this case, I was reading coverage about the Pope's funeral, and they mentioned how C&C had to postpone their wedding, blah blah blah, so I was once again confronted by it, despite reading what should have been a totally unrelated topic. <g>
