Fanfic Author Appreciation Week: Day Two

I have water waiting to boil for a 2-lb Dungeness crab, so this is probably a good time to do this...
Monday pick: Rachel Anton
Fandom: The X-Files
Rachel was one of my favorite authors from XF fandom. Not because everything she wrote was some genius epic or even because her characterization was impeccable, but because her stories were so consistently entertaining, the smut was hot, and she had a way with words that made it imperative that you keep reading.
Most of my favorite works by her are MSRs from early on; I haven't read her Scully/Krycek fic or read any of her non-XF work. Desideratum (that's just part one; the other parts can be found here, a story she co-wrote with Laura Blaurosen, is the only fanfic I can recall actually staying up until the wee hours of the morning reading, for the simple fact that I could not look away. Pandora's Box is not only a prime example of good smut, it also makes you crave vending-machine snacks. <g> And who could forget Eleventh Hour, one of the best stories around that starts from a guilty-pleasure premise (Mulder time travels back to when Scully was a teenager/early 20s)?
Reading Rachel's MSR cemented me in the XF fandom for good.
