Okay, so the show is still kind of lame.
But Syd and Sark KISSED. Squeeeeee!
Under totally contrived circumstances, but eh, everything about this show seems contrived lately. I'm just surprised -- pleasantly so -- that they even went there. She made him bleed. Bwahahahaha.
I'm not sure what the deal with the whole Lauren thing is. I mean, I suppose it should be touching in its own way, except that I still can't really believe it went as far as love -- for either of them. Maybe if they'd had more time, but really, their relationship had been all about sex, and then there were still power struggles. However, I do remember one of my favorite interactions between the two, when Lauren thought he was giving her up when he was really saving her ... and I do remember that he became kind of pussy whipped and it was annoying ... but love? I can only scratch my head. I'm hoping that what he really wanted was something Lauren had on her -- and that's why he insisted on seeing her body.
As for keeping her body all preserved like that in some CIA freezer? OMG so creepy. I mean, I guess it makes sense, but I'd never even considered that they might have something like that. Ewww.
Interesting that they got Melissa George back for this minor voice work and face shot. They didn't show her face for so long I didn't think they were going to -- we were only going to see Sark and Vaughn's reactions. And if they were going to show it, why not show it when Sark was looking at her, rather than suddenly when Vaughn looks? (As if Sark could demand Vaughn look at her, btw. 8-| He probably wanted Vaughn to be there because Sark was attempting something, and Vaughn's the stupidest one.) And Syd-as-Lauren had about three lines. Why even bother, honestly.
As for Sark refusing to talk to anyone who is not his intellectual equal? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA, oh, gotta love the Vaughn diss there. Not that we didn't all know it already.
What's with Sark's new thing of "you can trust me, really"? Just another ploy a la Sloane, or are they actually attempting to change his character? I find it hard to believe a guy like that would truly change his colors after a year in prison; he's got another game going (I hope). Maybe he's in on it with Sloane. And clearly he had to have been Jack's confidential informant -- and Jack believed him. Also? No one seems overly concerned with the fact that Sark is at large again. Though YAY that he is. I wish I had any assurances that he'll show up again soon. (Though I'm sooooo glad he's not teamed up with Anna. I don't think I could take Sark/Anna.)
When the episode started, and we got the "previously on Alias" thingy, it made me realize that we haven't seen one of those this entire season. Alias isn't Alias without a 'previously.' Because the show is supposed to be serialized, damn it. It's just not as good when it isn't.
Wherefore art thou, Dixon? I'll stop mentioning his lack of anything to do when they, you know, give him something to do.
What was with Jack waking Nadia up from her coma? 1) How would she have been of assistance in their current case? 2) Given that he gave her four times the amount necessary to counteract whatever they gave her to put her in a coma, did he actually mean to kill her?
Why do Sydney and Vaughn have to hug after every fucking mission??? Can we get a little more professional, please? I mean, have your stupid relationship on your own time. But they're constantly doing shit like this with the enemy about three feet away. It's not only sophomoric, it's stupidity bordering on dangerous. But I'm sure that won't be the last we see of it. :p

Date: 2005-03-03 07:17 pm (UTC)Jack's source was Nadia. He made the decision to wake her up after Marshall showed him that video where that dude whispered to her after she asked him about the location -- so Jack woke her up so that he could question her/receive her intel on where the thing was (and he didn't tell Sydney, because he didn't want to say "I risked your sister's life for this" as she was going into a mission). Which is basically what he explained to Sloane at the end with all their crypticness, and Sloane basically said he approved, but told Jack to watch it, because they've apparently made some crazy pact not to kill each other's daughters.
The "four times the normal amount" thing is because he needed her awake, RIGHT THEN. The smaller doseage would have "slowly" brought her around, and Jack just never has that kind of time.
What I found interesting (and perhaps telling?) was the way he stroked Nadia's hair back from her face before she woke up. Jack is not a physically (or emotionally, really) demonstrative man, so wtf.
<333 to the Sarkney. It's way more than I thought they'd ever do, no matter what their reasoning. And I think they *might* actually be trying to change Sark's character. Because they're just that uncaring of characterization. I hope you're right, re: Sark wanting to find something Lauren had on her, but I so don't have that kind of faith in them.

Date: 2005-03-04 03:02 am (UTC)I was obviously on crack about Sark being Jack's confidante. Obviously you're so right, it was Nadia, that's why Jack woke her up. :"> I totally forgot about the guy whispering the thing to her (I pay so much attention), and anyway I guess I wouldn't know why Jack would know Nadia had any information. He wasn't there when it all went down -- in fact, Syd wasn't there either, when Nadia was questioning the dying guy, so she couldn't have conveyed the info that maybe there was even the possibility. I mean, it's not out of the range of reason to assume that Jack did it just in case, but I hate having to fill in holes like that for myself because they're too lazy or too stupid to do it. :-l
Am I hearing you say Jack/Nadia OTP? :D
Re: Sark -- they don't deserve our faith. Sark is too good for them.

Date: 2005-07-30 04:43 am (UTC)The Sark/Syd/lime scene was the hottest thing ever. It so tops the Sydney/Vaughn kiss when the Alliance was taken down...though that might have been becaue I hate Vaughn, so I find anything without him hot...well, apart from Lark that is.
And my theory is that Sark WAS working for Spydaddy, and so he did tell Jack about the info, not Nadia. 'Cause when the doctor's talking to Sloane, he says that Nadia's only been awake for a few minutes and so Jack can't of had enough time to get the intel from Nadia. They're my delusions, and I'm sticking to them!
