I don't at all mind "being bothered" -- it's nice to know that people give a crap. ; ) It was her challenging/double-dog-dare-you tone that I took issue with, because ... I mean, writing fanfic is not an obligation; I just do it for fun. Most people get that, but there are a handful who don't seem to at all.
