I am so sleepy right now that I'm actually considering going to the car and napping in the backseat. I think I'll be getting my monthly visitor soon, as I've noticed that feeling extremely tired/sleepy prior to getting it has become a regular occurrence of late. It used to be break outs, but that's kind of ceased. Now it's the extreme tiredness. *YAWN*

Of course, it could also be due to the fact that I haven't gotten much sleep in the past couple of days. Last night, J&R&I went to see The Princess Diaries 2, and it was TERRIBLE. Now, I didn't have v. high expectations of it (given they've completely departed from Meg Cabot's books and because I thought the first one was pretty bad, too), but I thought I might be able to glean some guilty pleasure from it. No. Awful, awful, awful.

I think we only stayed because we were going to watch Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle afterward (yes, the second viewing for me and Rob), and that managed to salvage the movie-going experience. It's just so fucking silly and funny, and yet effectively layered with social/racial commentary. There's a good article about it here. Plus, I had no idea that it was such a critics' darling. Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs up. Who knew? I am so impressed with these movie critics! (<--- Never a sentence I thought I'd say.)

Yeah, so go see it if you are so inclined. *ships Kumar/Giant Bag of Weed*

Did I mention that the first thing Jade did when she arrived was to mop my floor and do my dishes? It's so great having her around! Oh, and when Robbie and I were on that touristy island, we went into an antique shop, where she purchased an iron hand. (I do not know why anyone would need or want an iron hand, except now when she says I'm making her want to strike me with her iron hand, it's not an idle threat.)

I'm disappointed to hear about Princess Diaries 2, because the first one is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I keep seeing the previews and objecting loudly because of the absence of Michael (her one true love).

Now I don't know if I'll see it at all. :/

I know. The actor they chose for that role wasn't right in the first place. When I met Meg this year, she was very adamant about distancing herself from the movies -- particularly the second one, which is a departure from the actual series (superior to the movies in every way!). It was just so -- ugh. And what was Julie Andrews thinking, agreeing to do a duet with Raven?! It's like the first sign of the apocalypse. <g>

I own the entire series. I waited so long for the last one to come out, the ladies in BAM recognized me when I would come in. And they'd laugh at the 20-year-old buying books from the 'easy' kids section.

I never felt the guy playing Michael fit the role, especially after I read the books, but he was still tolerable. I knew this was a departure from the series (cause Mia is 15 in the series - married!?!) but I'm disgruntled to find out about the no Michael-and-Mia thing. :(

Julie Andrews and... Raven? Oh dear.

Yes... just don't do it. It SUCKS. Imagine the first movie without any of the Meg Cabot Charm. Ugh. Go see Harold and Kumar!!

There's another movie out that's supposedly funny and you have to be in the mood for called "Napoleon Dynamite". Heard anything about it?

Hmm ... the name sounds familiar, but I actually don't know much about it. Have just asked my visitors, and they say "ditto." <g>

Uh. Nevermind that. My sources were bad I guess. The best way to put is it kind of deserved the two stars it got but they could've been less generous with star hand outs.

Hullo there! You don't know me, but I've recently discovered your incredibly brilliant Draco/Ginny fanfics, and I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy and admire your prowess. I hope you don't mind if I Friend you, as I'd like to keep up with your writing. Take care!

Terribly sorry for the off topicness, but are you one of the owners of [livejournal.com profile] thetalon? If so, what is the likihood that this lj community will be reactivated? As a member, I'd love to see it up again and I'd know many who would join!

Since The Talon website (http://www.purebluesun.com/thetalon/) went offline March 2003, the Lex/Lana community has sorely missed both you girls. It was extremely difficult tracking you down because you changed your names, but alas you've been found!

I'm glad to read that you haven't stopped watching completely and still comment on the lameness that Smallville has become. You're not alone when you say Lex and Lana are the only thing that keeps you tuned in. That's the only reason a lot of L/Lers watch too.

Suprisingly enough, despite the disappointment in the show, the number of L/Lers have increased. There are fans steadily coming out of the woods and proclaiming their L/L love each month.

Let me get to the point of this comment: I noticed you wrote an L/L drabble--wonderfully done by the way. I was wondering if the near future held any possibility that you and Jade might like to come back. Hazardous (http://www.number14.org/hazardous/main.php) holds the largest Lex/Lana fanfiction to date and only continues to grow, and Christie is just one of a dozen extremely talented authors.

Feel free to swing by the Lex/Lana (Veni, Vidi, Vici) thread on DTS (http://devotedfansnetwork.com/tempforum/index.php?s=8e3de79e57e169e943b60b19d66f6b3a&showtopic=575). Peace!

p.s. Oh and this is Lissette, in case you remember me out of the hundreds of names you've seen online. ;)

Hi Lissette,

Jade (Vatrixsta) and I do remember you, and are quite impressed with your sleuthing skills. We weren't trying to hide or anything -- we were just using different pseudonyms for different fandoms (though we've decided that's pointless), and didn't figure that anyone would need/want to track us down. :D

It's great to hear that the L/L community is thriving; sounds like there are many exciting L/L happenings planned for next season, and that relationship seems to be shaping up pretty much the way Jade and I always thought it would. I actually stopped watching the show about midway through last season, but Jade kept me apprised of anything L/L that went on. I'm not sure yet if I'll be tuning in next season.

[livejournal.com profile] thetalon hasn't been deactivated, per se ... there was just never much traffic on the community and when our interest in Smallville waned, we just pretty much let it go. It's possible, depending on what happens next season, that our interest in the show will be renewed (as will our interest in maintaining the Web site/LJ community/writing), but for the time being I think our L/L offerings will be sporadic.

Thanks so much for checking up on us, and for the updates!
