Here's some interesting news... Not really that surprising, but JKR has confirmed that Blaise Zabini is a boy! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] akscully for the link. Sometimes she has her uses.

So, the Anita Blake books. Last night I finished The Laughing Corpse and started Circus of the Damned. What keeps me going isn't the plot of these novels, because even though they start out pretty good, the delivery and often the resolution isn't all that impressive. However, I was dying to know whether or not Anita would allow Jean-Claude to make her his human servant, particularly light of the fact that she's now met this hottie that she's attracted to (I thought he was kind of hot until we discovered his name was Richard -- so not a hot name). JC is super smoking hot, possibly because he's dangerous and eVIL, and yet is so clearly into Anita.

I tend to picture Eliza Dushku as Anita, because the physical description matches (except for the height, though I'm not sure ED is all that tall either...), plus Anita is all tough and shit, like Faith (who is, of course, also a vampire slayer). JC has his own 'look' in my mind, though I could picture Stuart Townsend in the role. Anyway, so I skimmed through the rest of CotD (trying not to read too many details), and then read all the backcovers of the other books, and even skimmed some of the future books. I'M SO DEPRESSED NOW. Not because I've spoiled myself rotten (I'm kind of glad about that, so that I can deal with Anita's love interests outside of JC better), but because it's going to take SO LONG for Anita and JC to get together, and even when it happens it's going to be all edgy and realistic, rather than t00by the way I want it (and frankly, the way it was in TLC). SIGH.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series, though seriously -- LKH needs a new editor or publisher or something. I have found simple typos and shit in every single book so far.

I'm a giant t00b, but this picture makes me all happy. I love what Samantha's wearing. Normally I like Carrie and Charlotte's clothes (though when Carrie makes horrendous choices, no), but I love casual!Samantha. For those of you who might be interested, Sex and the City is going into syndication on TBS starting June 22.
