I am going to type this whole entry in sarea_okelani colored font, so I hope for all your sakes that it's not an annoying color. Like yellow. If it's yellow, all I have to say is, poor, poor you.
But enough about you, let's talk about me. No, let's talk about the guy from Blockbuster last night. He was w/ a girl, and he asked her if she'd seen 'Troy' yet. She had no clue what he was talking about (hello, what rock have you been living under?), and he was all agitated, this bleached-blond, shaggy hair, baggy-clothes wearing guy. And then he goes, "Oh my word, that was a good movie." It was all I could do to stay upright, when my first reaction was to fall to the ground in a fit of laughter. HE SAID 'OH MY WORD.' WHO SAYS THAT.
I've finished my Roswell DVDs. God they were satisfying. Like, the show is campy, and doesn't have the same kind of cleverness as BtVS, and has some of the worst internal consistency I've ever seen, but it has an incredible emotional resonance that is very rare. It makes me feel like their lives are mine, and draws me into its world. And Max and Liz... *sigh* *sigh* I'd forgotten how attractive Jason Behr is. How can you not love a guy who would give up his intergalactic destiny to be with you?!
'Destiny' is possibly one of the best season finales of all time, even if the Genie Francis part cheeses me out. Anyway, while I was watching the show last night, I started scribbling down thoughts I had about HP that's been percolating awhile. Just random things about its possible direction and the characters and what JKR might be planning, etc. I just have to sort it into some semblance of order, so my rambling will have a bit of structure. I mean, it's a bit strange to me that I'm in the HP fandom and yet I've never really gathered all my thoughts about canon into one place.
And now, a meme within a meme:
1. Take five books off your bookshelf. [Or on your desk, for the lazy]
2. Book #1 -- first sentence
3. Book #2 -- last sentence on page fifty
4. Book #3 -- second sentence on page one hundred
5. Book #4 -- next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
6. Book #5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph:
He is like ice. He pushed her legs apart so he could move between her knees. She had been quite frosty to him at dinner, but he really didn't care. (Just what Freud would have said, only possibly without that know-it-all attitude.) As her footsteps echoed through the Hospital Wing and faded down the hallway, he looked down at the white mark left by the missing ring and thought that, if he wasn't careful, it might last so long as to turn into something frightening and huge, like forever.
** Since I'm not at home, the only books on my bookshelf are extremely boring technical manuals. So I did fic lines instead. <g>
The fics I used...
1. Ice by Jade Okelani
2. Dark Directed by Fearthainn
3. Rising from Ashes by Arabella and JediBoadicea
4. Draco Sinister by Cassie Claire (parentheses mine)
5. Grey Eyes Green by Mynuet
