Boss: Can you act as managing editor this weekend in case anything requires our attention? I want to send a mail to tell people who they can go to. I'm taking my daughter to [something or other].

Me: Sure. Hose my weekend however you like. I have plans, but I certainly wouldn't expect you to tell me this in advance so that I could have prepared accordingly, even though you probably knew about this daughter thing ages ago.

All right, the conversation on my end was mostly thought in my head, but that doesn't make me any less irritated. There's also another work thing that might be happening, and I just have to say: If any of these things disrupt my plans to have Indian food and watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind w/ Julie, I am not going to be a happy camper.

In other news, I have received the estimate for the damage to my car: $4,000. Since the other driver's insurance has claimed full fault, I don't have to pay any of it (and they're paying for my rental car), but it's still a pain in the ass. My car was only 7 months old! It has 2,500 miles on it! Oh, I h8 that other driver.

Okay, here are some fic recs, both by Dee. They're dark, but I need that sometimes.

* Eden - D/G ... quite chilling, but a refreshing take.
* Bring Out Your Dead - Draco/Ginny/Harry ... I think I like the writing more than the story, if that makes sense. Very nicely done.

Am now off to have lunch w/ my ex-ex-boss. He's Mr. TMI. I wonder what he'll tell me today.

Don't you love inconsiderate people who think you have nothing better to do then answer to them?

My aunt's boss is sort of like that...except she has no life except for her dog, so she expects no one else to either.

$4000? Holy Shit! Well, at least you don't have to pay for it

I REALLY want to see that movie. My friend said it is AMAZING. She's already seen it twice and is willing to see it again. She said she cried so much... It is interesting to hear that about a Jim Carrey movie. I love Jim Carrey though.

oh, and Sarea?

First -YEAH other guy's fault. This is why we go through the bother of having insurance. Only 7 months! And only 2500?? Do you walk everywhere or what? Mine was right around 6 months with 5500 miles on when he got smoooshed by a stupid driver.

What did ya get for a rental? Anything fun - or are you missing your baby terribly?? By the time I got mine back it was like having a new car all over again! I had forgotten the rental wasn't mine. :)

I hate commuting, so I live only 5 miles from work, which cuts down on a lot of mileage. <g> And I haven't taken any big road trips with this particular car yet.

Nothing super fancy for the rental (a Sebring, but not a convertible, alas) -- they only cover a standard-size vehicle, so luckily I don't have a Lexus or something. Hopefully I'll feel the same about my car ... I think it's going to take at least another week for them to fix the damage.
