It's crazy how quickly a month passes.
Birchbox
- R+Co DEATH VALLEY Dry Shampoo
- The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Waterproof Mascara
- Vita Liberata Fabulous Self-Tanning Gradual Lotion
- COOLA Mineral SPF 30 Daydream Makeup Primer
- Living proof. Perfect hair Day (PhD) In-Shower Styler
Overall thoughts: Pretty disappointing box from Birchbox this month, when it's consistently strong, normally. The only things I might find useful are the self-tanning lotion and the in-shower styler, but I'm not exactly itching to try them, either. The dry shampoo, mascara and makeup primer are all things I likely won't use.
Ipsy
- Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte Lipstick in Posh
- Beauty & Pin-Ups Fearless Hair Rescue Masque
- Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen in OpalOvercoat
- Pacifica Island Life Eyeshadow Palette
- Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Surfer Girl
Overall thoughts: A pretty OK box, though there's nothing here I'm overly excited about. I'm pretty much overdosed on black eyeliner at this point -- I like it and use it, but how many do I really need??? -- and while I do love nail polish, I'm kind of tired of getting it every month. But at least I have a chance of using everything in this month's Glam Bag, which is a lot more than I can say for Birchbox this month.
Sephora Play!
- treStiQue Highlight + Perfect Multipurpose Stick in Maldives Luminescent
- GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper in Clear
- Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Color in Greystone
- Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser
- Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt
- Maison Margiela 'Replica' Beach Walk
Overall thoughts: Another disappointing showing from a normally strong contender. I like the cleanser and scrub, but the highlighter and lip plumper are things I likely won't get much use out of, and the lipstick is okay, though I'm not really crazy about matte lipsticks in general.
Winner this month: Ispy. It was boring, but at least mostly serviceable, whereas the other two had a number of misses. This won't change my mind about canceling Ipsy when my annual subscription is up, though.
