For the first-time ever I watched the NFL draft. I liked it! It helped that I could multitask during it, since waiting for each team to make its pick (10 minutes per team for the first round) was quite boring. Even with the sports commentary to fill in the time, it all got very repetitive very quickly.

I don't know why everyone and everything has to be about Johnny Manziel though. He seems like a really annoying punkass. I did feel a little bad for him when Blake Bortles was picked at #3 and JM just kept sliding down and down until the Browns (how appropriate was that) took him, but honestly I really want him to fail in the NFL so I don't have to hear about him for ONE SECOND LONGER. My coworker tells me that he's a similar quarterback to Tim Tebow rather than Russell Wilson, thank goodness. Though from this experience I can kind of see why other people might be sick of hearing about Russell.

The Seahawks trading out of #32 should have surprised no one. In fact, when there was 4 minutes left on the clock and they still hadn't traded, I was shocked. Of course, they traded seconds later. I'm not sure it was that great a deal... it wasn't terrible, but given what Minnesota got out of it (the QB they wanted in Teddy Bridgewater, who could legitimately become their franchise QB), sliding down 8 spots to the #40 pick in the second round plus an extra fourth-round pick didn't seem good enough. Then again, we only went into this thing with six picks, and there's just no effing way John Schneider is not going to get more. In fact, I fully expect us to trade the #40 spot for more picks as well.
