This is a post restricted to things that make me smile.

Jeremy Renner. It's hard to fathom how someone so utterly DORKY (like, all the time. Seriously) can be so hot. Somehow he manages.

- This is the background on my phone right now. I find myself "checking the time" a lot more often. >.>

I just love this photo and whatever treatment was done on it. Jeremy looks nice too.

Total. life. ruiner.

The sleeve of his t-shirt is working overtime. I want to be that sleeve. (I abhor smoking normally but he makes even that seem sexy!)

I rewatched The Town recently, and basically, it's a movie that has far too much Ben Affleck and not nearly enough Jeremy. (Though he did manage to be around long enough to get his second Oscar nomination for the role.) I usually like clean shaven guys but, just like smoking, Jeremy makes facial hair sexy too.

- Being forced to sing "New York State of Mind" by Jimmy Fallon, and the look on Jimmy's face/his reaction afterward when Jeremy actually starts to sing. Everyone who forces Jeremy to sing (it's bizarre how often it happens) has the same reaction! :)) They just don't expect it. Watch the video here; I have no clue how to embed it and you can't find it on YouTube.

- In his Academy Award nominee questionnaire, under "Do you use social media? If you tweet, what is your Twitter name?" he wrote, "NO. Can't be bothered." Ahahahaha so awesome. <333333333333 Plus he's left handed and his Starbucks drink is an Americano. CLEARLY ALL THIS MEANS WE ARE MEANT TO BE FRIENDS. ...yes.

Clint/Natasha.

- This is a movie that needs to happen.

- Does it, or does it not, look like they are one second away from planting one on each other in this? Seriously.

- There's tons of Clintasha art on Tumblr, but this is one of my recent faves. I love protective!Natasha and hurt!Clint, probably because it's reminiscent of the movie. OMG this gives me so many feeeeeeeeeeels.

- Jeremy and Scarlett being really cruel.

- My icon!! [personal profile] allisnow and [personal profile] sugar_fey are right, it is the adorablest thing ever.

- It's been awhile since I last did a recs post, and I've read a crap ton since then, so I'm just going to rec the stories that have really stood out for me. That's not to say that I haven't enjoyed others, or that I've read every fic -- I'm sure I've missed some, so if you can't believe I left a fabulous fic off this list, enlighten me! I tried to keep the list fairly manageable.

* An Arrow, Discarded and its companion piece Out is Through, by [personal profile] allisnow
Summary: He is Clint Barton and he is Hawkeye and he is Loki and he is a rime of blue ice. He is an arrow loosed from a madman's bow. (The companion piece is from Natasha's POV.)
Why I like it: A fantastic and believable take on what happened directly after the events of the movie. Really enjoy the characterization in this one.

* Once Was Lost by [personal profile] sugar_fey
Summary: Natasha has not always belonged, and Clint has not always been found.
Why I like it: A lovely slow burn on Clint and Natasha's relationship and how they get from where they were to where they're going.

* Taste by SidheRa
Summary: Natasha liked to graze in his refrigerator.
Why I like it: This story gets to me/makes me totally squeeful. I'm not sure why, but it totally does. Natasha eats Clint's food, and it's foreplay.

* Kobayashi Maru by [personal profile] anuna_81
Summary: "This thing we do will never be easy. It will never be safe, you will never have a normal life. But you don't have to walk down the path, you can kind of... cheat your way through it."
Why I like it: Natasha pregnancy, dealt with in a realistic way -- not fluff. Skillfully walks a fine line, because there are just some things that, while it would mean nothing/little to any other couple, would be A Very Big Deal for Clint and Natasha.

* Mr. and Mrs. Barton (Or: Why Natasha Sends Jennifer Aniston an Annual Apologetic Fruit Basket by [profile] kuhori_rei
Summary: Five years before they meet as Hawkeye and the Black Widow, they meet as Clint and Natasha. There is a romance, a marriage, and then, predictably, everything goes absolutely to hell, and Clint still thinks they should be getting royalty money from the DVD sales of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. (Or: boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy and girl get married. Boy and girl neglect to do background checks.)
Why I like it: A fun, sexy and thoroughly enjoyable look at what Clint and Natasha's relationship might've been like had it evolved the way it does for the protagonists of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I've never actually seen that movie and don't care to, but it's such a guilty pleasure premise and mostly works for our two master assassins. (OK, yes, I find it difficult to believe that Natasha would assume the KGB wouldn't know her every movement, much less that she'd gotten MARRIED, or that SHIELD wouldn't do a background check on Clint's wife, or even know what she looks like, but whatever. This story is worth suspending one's disbelief.)

* Laid Bare by [personal profile] eiluned and chez_amanda
Summary: Starting a relationship with your partner is against S.H.I.E.L.D. policy, but it's not like Clint Barton cares about the rules too much. An undercover mission dredges up feelings that can't be buried.
Why I like it: A super sexy undercover mission, wherein Natasha works in a strip club and Clint gets antsy, so he does what he does best: flouts authority and crashes the party.

* Indebted by [personal profile] sablier_bloque
Summary: Clint Barton is sent to kill a young girl named Natalia Romanova. He makes a different call.
Why I like it: This is not your typical "he made a different call" story. Before we found out that Marvel was apparently going to make all the characters' ages the ages of the actors who play them, it was generally assumed that Clint and Natasha were only a few years apart. This story doesn't make that assumption. Clint's 24 when he saves 14-year-old Natasha. A beautiful story about the partnership they build together (and nothing of a romantic nature happens until she's actually of age).

* Li.ber.tas by [personal profile] anuna_81
Summary: They say, when you travel long enough, you finally end up running into yourself.
Why I like it: Clint and Natasha take some time off after the events of the movie. A story of Clint's slow recovery. I really loved the mood.

* Two Truths and a Lie by hannasus
Summary: Clint and Natasha remember Budapest very differently.
Why I like it: If you've been in C/N fandom for awhile, you'll get your fill of Budapest stories. My personal headcanon is that nothing sexual happened there, but I don't mind (and even enjoy) reading stories wherein it's presumed that something does. However, after reading 1398407802 stories with that premise, it takes a lot to impress me. This one starts off kind of slow, but is one of the best Budapest takes I've read.

* Our Secrets Are Our Own by [personal profile] lar_laughs
Summary: They just assume they are the only ones who know sign language.
Why I like it: I generally don't gravitate toward stories where Clint is deaf. Since I've never read the comics, and it doesn't happen to him in the movie, it's just not part of how I see him (I also find it very difficult to come to terms with the fact that he basically grew up in a circus, but he needs some kind of origin so I'm willing to roll with it). But. This is beautiful.

* Partners by Dr. Nat
Summary: Set pre-Avengers, circumstances lead Clint and Natasha to realise they do not simply work together, they are partners in every sense of the word.
Why I like it: Clint is captured and refuses to give up Natasha to his captors, and she goes to rescue her partner. I love the action in this -- it's short so it's not overwhelming. Natasha is the way she is in the movie, unafraid and unashamed of how she feels about Clint.

Green Day. This is "Oh Love," a new single from ¡Uno!, the first of three upcoming studio albums that will be released between Sept 2012-Jan 2013.

I don't know how they can continue to be so awesome. Oh wait, yes I do. His name is Billie Joe Armstrong. Billie Joe is one of those guys I've loved for forever. I mean, he's incredibly talented, writes/creates quality music that is consistently thoughtful and catchy, is a total superstar, holds ideals I agree with, and has been married to his wife, with whom he has two kids, for eighteen years, since he was 22. In this day and age that is a minor miracle from anyone, much less from a highly successful punk rocker. Seriously, how can anyone not be at least a little in love with him?! I've only seen Green Day in concert once, but it was amazing. Or rather, Billie Joe was amazing. I'm sure Trey and Mike must've been there too, but... Billie Joe is Green Day.

Dog pictures are on a roll. First there was that baking dog. Now there's this:
