Gasp... we have joined the ranks of those hooligans in California! Liquor can now be sold in grocery stores! (Thanks to [personal profile] ropo for the link. I truly don't keep close tabs about the sale of liquor. I'm not [personal profile] akscully, for pete's sake.) Sounds like it'll be good for the state economy. Or something. And also Costco, they clearly had a lot invested in it. It's never been a huge deal for me, of course, being someone who only buys liquor rarely, and then only because I use it in cooking. Plus there was a state liquor store right next to the Safeway down the street from me, so it was already convenient. It was just a very odd thing during the first year or so after I moved here to realize that I couldn't get booze at the grocery store, that Washington had state-run stores. It seemed very quaint. What a cute, uncorrupted little place I've moved to! Now, of course, it's just as bereft of morality as any other decent place. :))

LOL just heard this from a coworker, I guess it's making the rounds on Facebook amongst Seattlites: "There are four seasons in Seattle: spring, summer, autumn, winter, and enough." It's officially spring, but it's like 37 outside. It is totally ENOUGH right now. I am so done with how cold it's been. It snowed AGAIN on Saturday before T and I met up!

Finally saw The Walking Dead finale last night.

Wow, finally a Rick I can get behind!! He was right on with that speech. I'm paraphrasing, but: STFU YOU WHINY CRYBABIES, IF YOU'RE SUCH HOT SHIT LEAVE THE SAFETY I PROVIDE YOU AND GO OFF ON YOUR OWN! GO! Seriously almost every single character irritated me at some point. Only exceptions were Daryl (who continues to be the most awesomest awesome ever) and maybe Andrea.

Speaking of Andrea, WHAT/WHO did she encounter? They looked so creepy and badass, lol. And with those two armless zombies in tow! LOL, so over the top, but fun. Still, even armless, wouldn't they still be fighting to get at Hooded!Stranger with their mouths? Anyway, Andrea. Very impressed with how she was able to dodge zombies for so long.

I really thought they should've killed off what's her name, Sophia's mom. Carol. She was only useful as Sophia's mom, and is worthless otherwise. She's one of those women I hate who have this asshole abusive husband but just takes his crap and makes excuses for him, etc. And now that she's rid of him, suddenly she's Ms. I Know What's Best? Shut your face and sit the fuck down. And I really, really, REALLY hope they're not planning to pair her with Daryl, because NO. JUST NO. Sometimes I feel like they put them together far too often, and of course Daryl had a soft spot for Sophia, but as a romantic pairing it does not work at all. Even though I know, intellectually, that the two actors are probably very similar in age, she just seems WAY too old for him. Plus, even worse, is her aforementioned uselessness and increased whininess as the season has gone on.

I'm done with Hershel and the fact that he has no lips. The only thing I like about him is that he's totally Rick's bitch now. They should've left him at the farm to die like he wanted.

I am also totally sick of how every single person in their group is a crack shot, that they can shoot zombies right in the head from moving vehicles. WhatEVER! Shooting is not that easy!!

Oh how I wish that little dipwad Carl had died. Same goes for Lori, who is becoming increasingly intolerable. First, Carl and his, "We have to go back for mom. It's mom." Oh shut up. Then Lori with how she reacted to Rick's confession about killing Shane. Come on. You yourself knew how dangerous Shane was!! You're the one who warned Rick about it! And you're blind if you couldn't see how unbalanced Shane was becoming or didn't think he was capable of doing something like that, after KNOWING that he deliberately killed Otis. So yeah, I thought that was actually really bad writing/characterization on the part of the writers. Her reaction was not really believable given that history. Despite her other faults, she's always been supportive of Rick and was on the outs with Shane. And again, shut up Carl re: when he started crying over Rick having killed Shane.

OK, sorry, but Rick keeping what Jenner told him from the group -- WHO CARES? They all acted like it was some big deal. What does it change, really? They acted like it was the biggest news ever that would have helped them had they known -- HOW? What would that knowledge have changed about ANYthing? I just didn't see what the big deal was. It'd be different if a person who died naturally came back as a zombie and no one was prepared for it so someone got hurt, but that didn't happen! So you don't have to be bitten now to become a zombie, so? I mean, yes, that totally has terrible implications for mankind, but for the GROUP it was so not as big a deal as they made it seem.

Carol Peletier: We're not safe with him - keeping something like from us. Why do you need him? He's just gonna pull you down.
Daryl Dixon: No, Rick's done right by me.
Carol Peletier: You're his henchman and I'm a burden. You deserve better.
Daryl Dixon: What do you want?
Carol Peletier: A man of honor.
Daryl Dixon: Rick has honor.

<3333333333 Daryl and STFU Carol. And yes, you are a burden. A useless, whiny lump is what you are.

Finally, why did they have to camp out in the open anyway? Even if they couldn't DRIVE the cars, couldn't they have stayed in them, for warmth *and* protection against zombies? Sure, they'd have to fit in Daryl and Carol into one of the two vehicles, but surely that wouldn't have been a huge deal.

For some reason, the episode seemed super short. Maybe because nothing really happens. There's just a bunch of fighting (and seriously, how dumb were they to stay at the farmhouse as long as they did?) and that's about it.

I might be looking forward to next season just because I'm hoping I'll get to see Carol, Lori, and Carl go. away. FOREVER.

I am in love with the following songs at the moment:

- We Are Young, fun.
- Some Nights, fun.
- Drive By, Train
- The One That Got Away, Katy Perry
- Lights, Ellie Goulding
- A Thousand Years, Christina Perri (I wanted to leave this one off because of its association with Twilight, but I didn't know that when I started liking the song, so)
