Okay. I am bored by the wank now.

I really try, usually, not to feed trolls. It's just not worth it. Occasionally something will really rile me up, and I won't be able to resist ... but then I later come to the exact same conclusion: It's not worth it, and it's stupid. The issues that are being addressed usually aren't stupid -- it's trying to argue with people who don't use logic or reason. I mean, talk about futility.

I've written 5 pages so far of a v. smutty D/G fic that popped into my head while I was in CA. (My idea is still written somewhere on a piece of [livejournal.com profile] ropo's Cranium paper.) I haven't even gotten to the smut part, because Ginny refuses to see the great idea that is having sex with Draco. My greatest fear at the moment is that my idea will show up in someone else's fic, because that sort of thing has happened to me a LOT. And it's the kind of idea that's so specialized that having two versions of it (posted around the same time) just doesn't work. The worst is when it happens and the other story's totally different, but because that one element is the same, it doesn't matter. Or when the story isn't any good. (Mine or the other one, depending. <g>)

In RL news, my job did get blown up and then put back together again, as I suspected. It's a huge change, and I have many, many more responsibilities. I have a new manager, who isn't really a new manager since he was the manager I had before my current one, which is great because I got along w/ him much better ... and I will be back in contact with a team that I've missed. So this is all a Very Good Thing, even if the 'more work' part of it is kind of sucky.

1. She's a lefty!

2. I'm sure some of you have experienced the horror of hitting "reply all" on an email rather than "reply" ... well, Meg knows it as well. :D She and her editor were exchanging emails with the German publisher, who was telling them that German consumers don't really like the epistolary format.

Meg hits reply all instead of addressing the mail to just her editor: "Well of course they don't like the diary format. Look at Anne Frank and what happened there!" Is that mortifying or what? But the best thing was their reply. "We're sorry that it seems Meg isn't feeling very well today..." Man. I don't even know if I have a comparative Reply All Horror Story.

Now I want to know what other people's fic have similar ideas as yours. :P

Hee! I was talking more about my XF days.

"OMG but I'm writing a humorous story centered around Mulder's hedgehog haircut!"

or

"Fuck, my entire AU is about Mulder's life had Scully never been abducted."

and the like. <g>

I certainly hope with your new work responsibilities comes a payrise *hugs you*

Yay for D/G smut! Can't wait to see.

I don't even know if I have a comparative Reply All Horror Story.

Unfortunately, I do. At a previous job, this woman had emailed me like three times in a day about something that was not important and I was getting mighty sick of her. I forwarded her most recent email to my boss with a note saying something like "This woman is most persistant, no? I don't have time to deal with her, can you please email her to shut her up?"

Only... you guessed it. I'd hit "reply" instead of "forward".

*facepalms* I was mortified. MORTIFIED. My boss nearly killed herself laughing, she thought it was hysterical.

Aiieeee! Did the woman respond? What did she say??? And thank goodness you had a cool/understanding boss, at the very least for this particular situation. Gaaaahhhh.

E-mail helps remind us that no matter how wonderful we are, Mistresses of all we survey - sometimes we are outsmarted by some 1's and 0's in a little plastic and metal box.

Ginny will get there - give her time. :) I have great faith in both her inner nympho and your persuasive abilities! ~EmpressVesica

It's not worth it, and it's stupid.

If only more people would realize this—a lot sooner. Currently my friends list is filled with talk of this latest idiocy. I can't wait for things to go back to normal.

Listen, I am glad to hear that you are feeling better and that things on the job front are improving.

Oh and I'm very excited to hear about your new D/G.
