Sooooo yeah, I've started watching Vampire Diaries S2. I got home pretty late from dinner at Crush (which wasn't as good as the other 2 times I've been there /sadface) so I wasn't able to watch more than the first ep.
- OMG poooooooooooor Damon! WHERE IS THE LOVE. Why doesn't anyone love him back? It makes no sense! He is, as he once joked to Stefan, the hotter, superior brother!
- But angsty, edgy!Damon is way more interesting than neutered!Damon, so I guess I'm okay with this totally unbelievable show conceit that anyone would choose Stefan over Damon.
- It's not really surprising that Stefan and not Damon would know right away who he was holding in his arms. Stefan's BEEN that close to Elena before; Damon hasn't. Besides, if this means there's no Damon/Elena OTP I'm fine with that. So Damon doesn't really like her all that much, not enough to tell the difference between them -- cool. Let's find him someone he does really care about!
- Best exchange of the episode:
Elena: Hey, how you doing?
Damon: Great, Elena. Walking on sunshine. Thanks for asking.
Elena: Damon.
Damon: Elena.
Elena: We should be able to talk about this. Damon, we're close enough now. I really want to know how you're doing.
Damon: I kissed you. Thought you kissed me back. Doppelganger high jinks ensued. How do you think I'm doing?
Elena: I think that you're hurt.
Damon: Hmm, no, I don't get hurt, Elena.
Elena: No, you don't admit that you get hurt. You get angry and cover it up, and then you do something stupid.
Damon: You're scared. You think Katherine's going to send me off the deep end, don't you? I don't need her for that. You know what? Why is such a surprise that I would kiss you?
Elena: That's not a surprise. I'm surprised you thought I'd kiss you back.
Damon: Now I'm hurt.
- Yeah eff Bonnie man, I hope Katherine kills her. She's gotten too powerful, too quickly. She needs to be cut down a peg or two.
- I have to say, I think Nina Dobrev is doing a pretty good job so far of distinguishing between Elena/Katherine without being completely outlandish. Though it kind of sometimes is like, "Katherine is the one with the sluttier hair!"
- I knew the spoiler re: Jeremy and how Damon snaps his neck but wow. Big turning point for Damon and also Damon/Elena (neverrrrrrrrrrr gonna happen now, as if it ever was). I'm sure Elena's right and Damon didn't see the ring. Or if he did and they're going to use that as a cop out, laaaaaaaaaame. He's dark and has rage issues, let's just go with that.
- CAROLINE! Yay! I just wonder if Katherine meant to kill her, kill her, or turn her. I *think* she knew Caroline had Damon's blood in her, because Bonnie told her, right?
- It was SO LAME when Katherine was sighing over Matt's blue eyes. YEAH GUESS WHO HAS EVEN MORE AWESOME EYES.
- I'm kind of into the Tyler/Jeremy bromance.
- Here comes Uncle Mason to show Tyler the ropes of being a werewolf.
- I'm shocked David Anders was allowed to survive. What was the point of that, when he didn't add any more value later on anyway? And why would Katherine try to kill him, but then leave the job undone? Doesn't really make sense. Also I didn't notice -- did his fingers grow back or no?
- Sorry but the "your father didn't die by supernatural means" excuse for why Elena & Jeremy's dad didn't come back after his death is kind of stupid. It's not like having one's neck snapped is a 'supernatural' occurrence like dying from a spell or something. So the ring is smart enough to tell when a supernatural BEING has done the neck snapping? That is really hard to swallow.
Another Merlin ep tomorrow! And after Sunday, I'll be able to start watching Dexter S5! Plus I still have The Shield to start on. Soooo much TV to wallow in. That makes me happy because there's a lot of RL shit going on I'd rather not wallow in instead.
I have my new camera lens! Yay! Can't wait to test it out. Though I think I have higher expectations for it than what it can really do, lol. ><
