This weekend I Gleeked out and rewatched the first 13 episodes, plus the newest 6 that I hadn't seen. It's like the best show ever.
I'm glad we're seeing more of Santana and Brittany, but would like to see more of Mike and Matt, the two sort of anonymous Gleekers. And where is Quinn? She's practically invisible these days. I'm a hopeful Quinn/Puck shipper even though things don't really look promising there.
Puck/Mercedes? No. Does not work.
I'm finding Emma super annoying. Will/Emma really annoying. I hate all the stops and starts, it's lame. Plus I'm sorry but she's a hobag. There is really no justification for going after a married man, no matter how heinous his wife was. Maybe Terri wouldn't have felt the need to go as far as she did if frankly, Will hadn't already been slipping away. It was obvious he and Emma had some kind of spark from the beginning. So as much as I revile Terri, I can't support Will/Emma either, because those two were just as much in the wrong.
Can't believe it took this long to finally get Jane Lynch a few numbers, and Vogue was particularly awesome. "Will Schuester, I hate you." LOL.
I'm not into Artie/Tina either. It's sweet but... a little TOO sweet. I'm all about opposites (as if that wasn't obvious with D/G). It should be like, Artie/Brittany and Tina/Puck or Tina/Mike.
I love Kurt and Mercedes as Cheerios... though I guess Mercedes isn't a Cheerio anymore. I loved them performing "4 Minutes" though. I DO think their complaints are spot on though about being under utilized. I'm sick of Rachel and Finn getting all the solo parts. Rachel has a great voice, yes, but I like VARIETY. I don't want to see her all the time. Finn doesn't even have a great voice. I think he's totally fine given he's like, an amateur, but Artie and Puck both have better voices. I makes no SENSE that he would be given all the male lead vocals. At least they're showcasing Artie more, but it's hard to do given his confinement to the wheelchair.
As for the guest stars... as much as I love Kristin Chenoweth, her return was wholly unnecessary. It was basically to showcase HER, and that's not really what the show is about. She was overused that episode. I'm liking the slow build up of Idina Menzel's role so far, though if she's really Rachel's mom, which she appears to be, I don't know how it's going to work out unless IM is going to become a series regular. I mean, once Rachel finds her mom, how is that just going to go away after a set period of time? I guess there were some criticism that Jonathan Groff is too obviously gay to be playing Rachel's love interest, but imho he's been fine. Neil Patrick Harris was totally wasted.
I CAN'T WAIT for the Lady Gaga episode. I've heard two of the songs because of the volume 3 soundtrack and it just sounds fabulous.
So I saw Robin Hood. I can't in good conscience recommend it. It was just too all over the place and nonsensical. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is still all the Robin Hood I need, though if I could I would totally switch the actors playing Robin and Marian. Morgan Freeman and Alan Rickman made PoT great.
For K.'s birthday dinner D. made linguine with clams. It was so good and so easy I made it again, with a few tweaks. Posted about it on my food blog.
I'm halfway through Black Powder War and started Jinx by Meg Cabot. It's one of the 527901354102 books she's written in the last few years that I haven't yet read. She's too prolific; I can't keep up with her. She writes as many books as I read. It's kind of ridiculous.
The handyman came on Saturday and fixed the toilet and two tubs, installed a peep hole (though unfortunately he went a bit higher than we agreed and it's a bit too high for me), and sprinkled moss killer over the roof. He got everything done in under 2 hours. I'm pretty pleased. That was really a $45 well spent (plus $15 for materials) -- not only did I get all that stuff I've been wanting fixed, fixed, but now I know a decent go-to handyman!
It's gotten so cold here that it's almost like we've been in fall and now it's approaching winter. People on
gardening are showing pictures of their first tomato HARVESTS and here in the Pacific NW most people don't even have their tomato plants in the ground yet. It's pathetic.
