Okay, I'm finally done with A Feast for Crows. I've been on the last chapter for the past 2 days. I kept avoiding reading it, because I didn't want it to be over. But now it is. :(
- So first, I have to talk about the last impression of the book. Samwell was the last chapter? With that? Why? Was there something significant about the person he was talking to, Sphinx/Pate? Am I supposed to know who that is?
- Would have made for a much more dramatic and cliffhangery ending if it had been Jaime throwing Cersei's note in to the fire. Woot on that btw. He's finally won himself over to my good side by putting Cersei aside.
- Speaking of Cersei, HAHAHAHAHA. Good, the bitch deserves being locked up. But she doesn't deserve a quick death. She deserves to first realize what a stupid, moronic, evil bitch she is. It's just as Littlefinger said; she destroyed herself by scheming against the people who would be her friends (Highgarden) and surrounding herself with idiots and the scum of the earth. She doesn't deserve to rule a kingdom, and though she likes to fancy herself as Tywin Jr., she's really too stupid for that.
- Very interested in the Tyrells and what exactly they're planning. Clearly they're way smarter than Cersei, though perhaps a bit too ambitious. I like Margaery though (especially when she called Cersei a scheming, vile, evil bitch), and the Queen of Thorns. Not sure about Loras, though he did do a brave/honorable thing (even if slightly stupid) by doing whatever it was he did to get himself all horribly injured.
- And what is Dorne doing? The Princess, her name starts with an A, I can't remember it right this sec, was starting to annoy me by the end. Clearly she doesn't give her father enough credit, because it seems he's got some Big Plans. I mean, she was bethrothed to Viserys! What a coup that would have been if he hadn't also been a moron and gotten himself killed.
- By the end I thought I would learn more about Sandor's really being alive or something since both A. and C. implied it, but there was nothing. So have you guys heard something through the grapevine on ADwD spoilers or what?
- Littlefinger's plans for Sansa are very cool ... though of course, also creepy with all the long kissing and such. Still think it's possible that the old maegi's prophecy to Cersei might actually mean Sansa, though of course both she and Dany fit the bill.
- I can't believe ONLY JUST NOW did Sansa think of Jon because someone else mentioned that he had been made Lord Commander at the Wall. Honestly. I want to like her, but she reminds me a little too much of Cersei.
- I hate Catelyn. Freaking hanging Brienne AND Pod, how dare she. (OMG when Biter was EATING Brienne it was like the grossest thing ever. And I'm warming to Brienne/Jamie.) She's an old, bitter bitch is what she is, and needs to go away. She's even got her uncle Brynden mistrusting Jon, because she never did (at least that's what he told Jamie). I'm like, she doesn't trust him because she's a jealous, small-hearted bitch, not because he's not trustworthy. He's worth a hundred of her!
I took Talis to the vet today. He's had this ear infection for about a month, and the reason it took me so long to do anything about it is because he's perfectly normal otherwise, has a great appetite, is energetic, etc., and at times the ear seemed to get better...but then it would get worse again. I told my mom about it and she was like, you should have someone look at it, so finally I did. So now I've got all this medication and ear wash for him, poor thing.
Last night my mom and I went to La Rustica for their 3 for $30. It's like my mom's favorite restaurant in Seattle. But get this ... she was so hungry at lunch (my cousin tends to eat lunch late, and my mom is starving by the time they go) that she totally stuffed herself (it was an Indian buffet) -- to the point where she wasn't even hungry at dinner. She kept looking forlornly at the food and watching me eat everything up and going, "I so regret eating that much at lunch." It was like her mantra. Oh well. *I* ate well!
