Okay, so here's a bizarre thing I've never done before in exactly this way: I've jotted down my thoughts ... in the form of a fic. *lets that digest* It's just ... you know how sometimes a scene/scenario pops into your head in answer to a question like, "What would Ginny and Draco do if they weren't magical beings, but regular people, and like, this is what their lives are like?", but it doesn't necessarily make a good actual story, and you don't know how any of the characters got there, or where they're going, or what's going to happen? Yeah. This is like that.

Normally I don't do total AUs. I don't see the point. And yet, sometimes in your head, you guiltily think one out. What if, what if, what if. I was talking to Jade about it last night, because for some reason I was thinking about Johanna Lindsey's Silver Angel, which is a total guilty pleasure romance that I used to love. Any knowledge I have about harems is from that book, and it could have been full of shit, I don't know. Also, I haven't started Anise's JotH, but I've read the summary, and I know there's supposed to be a harem of some kind in it at some point. I don't know how much of her story actually goes into the whole harem thing; from what I understand, it's a huge epic tale that goes way beyond the boundaries of a simple little AU haremfic, which is what I thought it was initially.

So, thinking about those two works got my mind wandering. What would be going on? Who would Ginny be, and what would she be like? What about Draco? What I got to thinking about is a true AU; I don't make the slightest pretense of having any canon basis for any of it. There's no Hogwarts, no magical world, no anything HP-related, really, except for fanon character personalities as I see them. It's taking a couple of characters and sticking them in a random situation, and wondering what it might be like if they were those people instead of the people they are.

This is a really long, roundabout way of seeing if there's any interest whatsoever in seeing a scene from a "fic" that a) isn't really a fic at all, and therefore isn't going to be written; b) is total GP; c) takes the seed of an idea from a good story and runs with it to my own diabolical ends. Gee, when I put it like that, how can you refuse? I can't emphasize enough that what I've written is just me thinking out loud, much like I would on [livejournal.com profile] dg_discussion, but instead of saying "I think Ginny would do this" or "I think Draco would respond like this" I've written it out in fic form instead. Make sense?

Okay, I've given myself a headache. Perhaps it's best left on my hard drive. I don't want to offend anyone. So instead, here's the
