Jade, I'm not dead. But it seems that with our turvy-topsy sleep schedules, we'll never speak again. Oh well, it's a shame. Lucky we have LJ and offline YM messages, huh?

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] ropo, who has the book If 2: (500 More) Questions from the Game of Life. It contains a bunch of "If" questions, and you and your friends answer them ... hopefully learning more about each other in the process. Of course, I suspect that some questions, like this one, may not boast the same kind of variety that others would, but eh, we have to bond somehow. Race to you the geeky HP props!!

If you could own a single prop from any film ever made, what would you choose?

I'd want Draco Malfoy's broomstick from CoS, of course. Oh, that lovely broomstick. So long and hard and sleek. Dude, I'm talking about his Nimbus 2001. Really. (I thought about his Quidditch uniform, but how would I display that? Would be kind of creepy.)

Wah! That's a good one! (But don't you mean his Nimbus?)

Hmmm, I think you are correct. It was the Nimbus 2001, right? And the Firebolt came out the year after, and of course Harry got one from someone or other. It's just that in the promo pics for CoS, the broom looks so cool I always think it's the Firebolt. ; ) *edits*

Yup, I think that's right. Harry got his from Sirius. But yes, since we're talking movie props, you'd want whichever one Tom's been, um, using. ;)

Hmmm.

At the risk of sound corny or cheesy, I'd say Zuzu's petals, from It's a Wonderful Life. Not to display, so much as just to smile over and get that warm fuzzy glow that the movie always gives me, the affirmation that life is good, even when you think it isn't.

hrm that is a good question. I'd probably take Draco's wand. errr yeah, the prop...lol A wand is easy enough to display.
I want your icon! so pretty!

If you won't take the uniform, than I will.

Than you will what? *snickersnicker* Oh, as if I could resist.

What would you do w/ the uniform? It's creepy dude! If you hung it up for display ... or would you keep it in your closet and bring it out to sniff once in awhile?

And aren't you a Harry chick?? What do you want with Draco's gear??

I'm equal opportunity.

Ew, no sniffing. I think I'll get in sized up or use it as a pattern for a larger uniform and make my paramours wear it. Then they can try to catch the Golden Snitch or put the Quaffle through the hoop.

God, JKR is so dirty.

CANE!!!!!

Hahahahhaa, yes, but is the cane bigger than the broomstick? That's really the question. I think Draco may surpass his father in some, ahem, areas ...

You're alive! *weeping* YOU'RE ALIVE!!! *clings*

I want the Stargate. Mofo of a conversation piece, and probably the most awesome standing prop I've ever seen. The one from the movie will do nicely. I'll put it in my back yard, by the diving board. Sweet.

On a less grand scale, I would totally love to have the hollowed out book, complete w/rock hammer, from Shawshank Redemption.

Anything at all from one of the original Star Wars movies (but I'd just die if I could get a model of the Millenium Falcon or Luke's X-Wing. Or Luke's lightsabre. Duuuuude, that would be so cool.)

I'm glad you said a model of the Millenium Falcon, unlike insane Jade, who wanted the actual Stargate, which she would then put in her backyard. I ask you. The sabre would be pretty kickass. I wonder if that's one of those props that's in a private collection now, or if it's in some SW museum somewhere.

Well, they didn't make a life-size version, and my apartment isn't big enough anyway. ;) IIRC, George has a warehouse full of Star Wars props, tho I believe he's given some stuff to places like the Smithsonion (who also have Indiana Jones's hat, the bastards.)

*butts in*

Yes, but if they had made a lifesize version, and if your apartment was big enough, and if Lucas was just offering it to you -- if all those things were true, you'd want it, wouldn't you?

Of course you would. Honestly. Sarea just doesn't get it.

Any prop?

The Delorean from Back to the Future... or the red car from Fast and Furious... or one of the Minicoopers from The Italian Job remake. Or a fully functional Cargo Loader from Aliens. :p

If none of the above is avaliable, then I'd like one of Mercutio's guns or Juliet's costume from Romeo+Juliet, or one of the Can-Can dresses from Moulin Rouge. If we get TV series into the mix, then I'd take the "Bearbylon 5" teddy bear from the Babylon 5 series.

From: [identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com
Oooh, the Delorean, that's a good answer. I was going to say, "You're such a car guy!" and then you said Juliet's costume from R+J, and I couldn't.

Actually I'm not a car guy. You might even say I'm an anti-car guy. My male friends don't understand how a perfectly healthy young male like myself can't bring himself to memorize models and colors and statistics of cars, or not changing every single piece of his car for a more shiny and luxurious one, or not liking F-1 racing. In fact, for me there are only three models of cars: trucks, cars and my VW Beetle (TM). :p
