Won't you please come to Chicago?
Aug. 22nd, 2003 12:40 pmJade and I have purchased our tix to Chicago! Whooo. Okt00berfest is providing an excuse for me to take a vacation (I am praying that some last-minute firedrill at work won't ruin this). We've never been to Chicago before, so even if for some reason something falls through w/ Okt00berfest, we're still going.
ropo will be accompanying us, but she's been many times. She's not an HP-er, but we'll get there a bit early and leave a bit late, so we can kind of t00b around on our own and do things like go to Great America w/
akscully (psst, you wanted to know what I look like? Look at my South Park icon; I look remarkably like that). <g> While we're off w/ our HP mates, Robbie will be tooling around w/ her Chicago peeps.
Now, the grand crazy plan involves me driving down to LA (I weep to think of this; the 17-hour drive the last time nearly made me go nuts, and that was w/o a puppy in tow; and of course, the drive back nearly killed us, so yeah, I'm not really looking forward to this) in the Vette. I will then exchange the Vette for my dad's new Civic Coupe. The gals and I will go to Six Flags Magic Mountain, which has a promotion going right now (season pass for the price of admission, which means we can use that for GA in Chicago), and probably do the other dorky things we like to do. Then we will fly to Chicago. Upon our return, I will stay a couple more days in LA, then make the loooooooong drive back to Seattle (probably w/ the pup still in tow).
Thanks for everyone's advice about my carpet. Am going to Target to get supplies. Jade says she thinks I can get a steam cleaner for $40. Am not sure I believe her. Will make her pay the difference. Hahahahahhaa.
rainpuddle13 shared some pics of Tom Felton yesterday (mygod, could he have been any more sunburned? I don't think so), that led to me reading this old interview that he gave. The reason I have a t00by love of TF is for the same reason I like Jason Isaacs so much -- they are both hilarious. It's not always deliberate on TF's part though. Still, he's a w00bie. Highlights from the interview:
Q: What was it like working with Daniel Radcliffe?
A: He's a very mischievous child. He was always causing havoc. He's on-set the most and so I think he has to keep himself entertained by doing all this stuff - borrowing people's mobile phones and setting the language to Turkish and all kinds of stuff like that. He loves it.
("I should really be playing Dumbledore, I'm so old. Watching Daniel run around just makes me exhausted.")
Q: Have you seen the Draco action figure yet?
A: Yes, my friends bought it as soon as they saw it and snapped my arms off and bent my legs every way possible - so that was good fun!
(LOLOL)
Q: Do you want a career as an actor?
A: Whatever life throws at me I'll take it and be grateful for it as well. I'd like to own my own garage and my own fishery. I'd also like to be a professional fisherman. But I'll take whatever happens.
("*deep sigh* If life forces me to be a successful, rich movie star with many adoring fans, I suppose I will just have to live with it. I will have to accept that that's simply my lot in life.")

Date: 2003-08-22 01:18 pm (UTC)You know, if Draco Malfoy all the sudden becomes sunburnt in POA we'll know why :) He's such a cutie pie!!!! I just want to do things to him that would send me to jail for a good long while...
Btw, *so* jealous of your trip to Chicago. I've always wanted to go there, but I've never had the chance. I did get to visit Minneapolis aka the Mall of America a couple years ago. That was fun.
Have fun on your trip. *still jealous*

You'll be so surprised when you see us and we look exactly like South Park characters. You'll probably throw up on us and run away.

However, . (I just made her several times w/ different expressions and created an animated .gif.)
Now you're crying and/or making the beige face, aren't you.

Date: 2003-08-22 03:22 pm (UTC)Well, I could do it with Paint Shop Pro. But I can't.
Short story: I don't have it anymore.
Long story: I had it on my old computer - shelled out the $100 for it. New computer had 30 day trial and so I was too lazy to reinstall. Took CD to work and put on work computer, CD was promptly stolen. Trial version of PSP expired two weeks ago.

Date: 2003-08-22 05:30 pm (UTC)You should totally come with us everywhere we go!!!!!!!! I think Ropo and Trix want to play some kind of board game with you, J. & G. Apparently we're all going to be on teams of three or something...? I don't know, but there ARE PLANS!!!

Date: 2003-08-22 08:01 pm (UTC)You should totally come to Magic Mountain with us, d00d. You love roller coasters!!! And then there'd be four of us, which is a much better number than 3 at an amusement park, because that way, no one rides alone, but there's not SO many people that you're like, "Can you sit all eight of us together?"
AND! We thought we might go see movies one day (theater hopping in grand tradition -- maybe we'll even steal popcorn so Sarea can pretend to scold us while secretly approving as she helps us devour it) and you would be down with that, too!!
Oh you're all over these plans, Mister. It's just that you have such a busy social calender, how are we to know you'd want to drop everything and spend every waking minute with us?!?!

Date: 2003-08-22 08:17 pm (UTC)I also don't find Daniel Radcliffe attractive in any sense of the word. I don't understand why people are so gaga over him, but hey to each his own. Now Tom Felton is another matter all together. Of course, I've always been a sucker for blond haired blue eyed guys. I think he has the most gorgeous eyes. Man alive!
*Revisits the very bad place*

Why do they need such good eyesight anyway?
Err... Sorry, I couldn't resist. Tip: never, never show a musical, comedy and sci-fi/fantasy fan anything that mixes all three of them, or they might end just as obsesed as me.

Date: 2003-08-25 02:32 pm (UTC)Dude, there is no reason to lose weight/have a pedicure for ME. Although pedicures are always nice, and I need one badly right now... And you never go to Spring Training! I've been to two now, and no lore. Sigh.
But we will meet in Chicago! That toddlin' town! Wheeeee!
