So. Life kinda sucked this week, as per my whinging earlier (you may have noticed). This was mostly due to work -- as in, too much of it, stress, long hours, blah blah. But! The men in my life have done me right lately (alas, none of them a bf type, but you can't have everything). ( Witness: )

You know how, when you watch movies you used to LOVE, it's the most disappointing thing ever when they don't hold up?? That's happened to me a couple of times recently ... I used to love The Hunt for Red October and First Knight, but on rewatch they were both bleh (I still love the story of THfRO, but the movie just wasn't what I remembered; as for FK it was amazing I ever liked it, considering I didn't like Richard Gere or Julia Ormond). I'm happy to report that Crimson Tide does hold up to the test of time ... and no doubt I'll be going through all my old VHSes to weed out some more. One of my favorite movies, despite disliking Kevin Costner, is Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (I mean, Alan Rickman is SO brilliant in it), but I'm afraid to watch it now in case I don't like the way I used to. :(
