If you're a big book freak like me:

The other day I received a chain letter from a friend of mine, which I was irritated by until I saw what it was about. It's probably the coolest chain thing I've seen, and I'm going to participate. <g> There's no "do this or you will have 7 years of bad luck" clause or anything. I hate springing stuff like this on unsuspecting people, so I wanted to see if there were any takers, and I'll send the letter along to you.

The deal is pretty much like chain stuff you've probably already seen (only, with panties or some such) -- but with books! Books are so much more fun and useful. And the worst thing that'll happen is that I'll send a good book to someone and not get anything in return. Heck, I'd do that anyway. But here's the deal ...

This is exactly what the letter says:

Please send a paperback book that you have already enjoyed to the first person on the list below. Then redo the list by removing the first person's name, moving my name to the number one position and adding your name in the second position. Mail to 6 people.

There is no need to box the book you mail, a mailing envelope is fine. You will receive 36 books in return. It will be fun to see where they come from and what books you get.

And there's one more paragraph, but that's the gist of it. So if everyone participates (come on, mailing ONE book is not a hardship, is it?), mathematically, we'll all get 36 books to read just by sending one. W00t!

Anyway, if you're interested, email me your address or leave it here, and I'll send the letter to you w/ my info.

Whatever, d00d. Don't think I don't know that's the sort of thing you thrive on.

And you know what's really great? When your mom is there when you get the package and she asks why your getting underwear in unmarked packages.

Good times, good times.

I'm sure she's used to you getting unmarked packages all the time. :D But yes, BOOKS would be so much better, don't you think? Come on, you know you want to.

Shut. Up.

Books would be tres cool, but I don't think I know six people that wouldn't be mighty annoyed by that sort of letter. Like me, all my friends are anti-social hermits.

Dang. I admit this is my fear as well. After all, why else are we all so addicted to the Internet?

Exactly. Who needs social contact when I can communicate endlessly through comments, email and message services, all without face to face contact or, god forbid, getting off my ass and going to where other people are?

Socializing sux0rs.
