Even after all this time, that line creeps me out.

Anyway. It seemed appropriate since it seems that Talis and I are becoming the same person. Witness:

* I don't know what happened to the doggie shampoo after the move, so when Talis had a bath yesterday, I had to use my Herbal Essences. He smells really good though! (Also, he doesn't like my bathroom anymore, as it is now the scene of his ignominous defeat.)

* He refuses to eat what's in his doggie bowl unless it smells just like what I have, and I make a show of putting whatever's on my plate into his. (The fact that he eats "people" food is one of the few things that is not my fault, but my mother's. I suppose it's a small price to pay for the good behavior she did instill in him. It gets to be a pain, though, particularly because he's SO PICKY AND SPOILED that he won't eat anything more than two days old. Even barbecue chicken!)

* I was tired midday yesterday (I was working from home), and since it was right in my office where the heater was turned on, I lay on his big, round doggie bed for a small nap.

In other news...

I am now vindicated for every time I have had to defend Newsies (one of my very favorite movies EVAR) against some naysayer. Joss Whedon is a self-declared fan. I knew there had to be a reason to like him other than for BtVS and Firefly. :))

Okay, I haven't watched Smallville in like three years, but Jade told me about the Christmas episode and OMG I SO HAVE TO WATCH THAT. I just have to find out when it airs. But again -- vindicated for my crazy ship ideas!! Well, not so crazy, as it turns out. HA. Anyway, re: the ep, there are even PICTURES. I will post if anyone wants to see, but otherwise I'm taking the lazy way out.

And now, for a Very Serious Question: If you were the star of your own television show, what would you want as your opening theme song? And what's your show about? Is it a half-hour comedy or a series drama or what?

My show is like Seinfeld - the show about nothing! Haha, 'cause my life's that boring, seriously...

I'm not sure. Actually, my show would probably be like the OC. Lots of drama, but not real drama, just petty, high school drama. As for the song? Probably "Perfect" by Alanis Morissette. I don't like the song that much but the lyrics fit.

OMG. I forgot to mention that I finally saw Batman Begins & I finally get what you're talking about (in your BB post from a while back lol)! :D After seeing BB, my Christian Bale love has increased dramatically.

Still haven't seen Newsies, but I saw Swing Kids and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Up next is American Psycho, which I have, but haven't found time to watch :(

Hee, well, I was thinking less that it'd have to be a show about our current lives (because let's face it, then we'd all be playing about the same theme songs over and over), and instead have it be whatever you want. What kind of show would you want to be the star of? I've been listening to Poe's "Haunted" lately, and if that were my theme (it's in contention), it's so be a supernatural angsty drama. The heroine has issues, but in the meanwhile she's kicking ass and taking names. And of course, there has to be a guy trying to dig under her layers... *snicker*

I can't believe you were able to stay away from BB for so long, but I'm glad you've now seen it and can share in the love. <3 Christian is just a baby in Newsies (though obviously not as much as he was in Empire of the Sun), but it's still a lovely movie. American Psycho is ... well, I'll put it this way: If that's all a person knows of CB, I wouldn't blame them for being creeped out instead of squeeful.

My "ET" boss (who I dreamt about last night) was Poe's college roommate.

Ooooh, good question. I think my song would have to be "The Great Escape" by We Are Scientists. Even just the intro to the song would be perfect for a show theme. I've seen them twice now and they are just the perfect band in my eyes. If you can, I would strongly recommend them to you (wearescientists.com has some songs/videos I think - plus it is the best. band site. ever.) They're lovely guys with brilliant sense of humour.

As for my show? It would be based at an all-girls school - half to break the myth about them and half to show what they're really like. I can't decide whether the main characters would be students or teachers though. Either way it would be a close knit group of friends with utterly contrasting personalities cus I'm a sap for the whole gang of friends mentality. It would be hour long episodes and be very episode based - no over-the-series plot. A show that you could pick up or drop at any point and use as a means of escapism for 45 minutes. And very much a comedy - noo end-of-episode montages with a voice over laying out the moral of the episode. My show is limited to three epiphanies a series.

LOL, that is awesome!!! I would so watch a show like that. I think I'd rather have it be about the students, because I'd be able to identify with their problems better. I don't know if you have noticed how very mature I am.

I will definitely check out your band!! This was a not-so-subtle way to get music recs, see?

I would want the theme to "House" -- which I have found out is not the same as the one here in the US!!!! Travesty. If you have S1 on DVD it is actually the music in the closing credits, which is just beautiful. As for what it's about? I have no idea. But I love the music...

By Massive Attack, right? I do love that music, and wondered why they didn't use it in the opening credits. I didn't realize they used a different one for the show overseas -- why? That is so bizarre.

Hope your trip has been awesome so far!!

Is it by Massive Attack???? I have no idea who it's by, but it's a beautiful piece of music. I nearly fell off the lounge when the credits came up and it wasn't the same! As to why, no idea. It's not the first show I've seen with different credit music -- so odd.

Am about to post about the trip thus far! Hey, would love to ring you once while I'm here if you're up for it...

Okay, I'm getting a bit dizzy reading all the different MB posts about it. There seems to be two possible conclusions:

1) The song is "Teardrop" by Massive Attack, and is used in both the opening and closing credits, but each features different parts of the song. So the UK/Australia/etc. ones just has that part in the opening credits instead.

2) "Teardrop" is most certainly the US opening credits song. However, the closing credits is possibly by a group called Portishead.

#1 does not explain why it'd be different from region to region, but there wasn't a whole lot of support for #2, and the most authoritative voice on this thread (http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3127754&st=165) is in support of #1. So yeah. Oddness.

Sure! I'll send you my number. :D

YES, you must watch LEXMAS. So I got back into Smallville because I am a Lex/Lana shipper, and now that the writing is actually going there this season, the show is watchable. Last week's ep was good too as Clark was crazy and was delusional to see Lana and Lex kiss. The pictures are so perfect and fluffy. Very Family Man. Their kid has has chubby cheeks and brown/red hair like his parents. Haha. So perfect.

Is it on Thursdays now? I must watch that ep, must.

I hadn't heard anything about last week's! I guess I have no recourse but to go to TWoP and read the recap. I haven't even seen any pics of the kid! Just of Lana pregnant, and Lex/Lana together. <3

Lex and Lana are together? Interesting.

My theme song would be sassy! And if there was a way to express "hermitism" in a song, it would there.

Well, no, she's with Clark. But Lex is totally in lurve with her, and it's a bit murky wrt her feelings for him. But that's to be expected. But way back in S1, people really thought that the idea of Lex and Lana being interested in each other romantically was totally ludicrous. Losers.

Really? I was thinking Bree Sharp's "Cheap and Evil Girl" might do you. :D

My show would be called "Disappointment at the Salad Bar", it would be like a gay Ally McBeal, with reality and fantasy mixed together. It would be about me trying to find love but always finding disaster instead. The Theme song for my show would be "Cowboy" by B0w Wow Wow.
