That load off your shoulders might be me.
Feb. 16th, 2005 09:11 pmI'm taking a leaf from the book of someone wiser than me and have trimmed my flist a bit. I have a relatively small flist compared to some, but even I get overwhelmed sometimes ... and I end up spending more time LJ'ing than doing things I really should be doing (like cleaning/writing). I based my decision on a few things -- either a) we rarely comment in each other's journals; b) we don't have much in common; c) we've never really spoken outside of LJ; d) I just can't keep up with you! <g> or e) a combination of the four. Most likely you've been skimming my LJ anyway, and you're glad to have a reason to be rid of me. <g>
Or, you know, if I haven't given you a reason, but you've been wanting to do it -- go ahead! It's really weird how LJ does that; you get into this wibble mode where you feel like you can't take someone off your flist because it's going to be a big old thing. Well, here's me telling you: It won't be a big old thing. If you've been meaning to take me off for ages, just do it. Don't feel weird. Shit happens. People drift apart. Flists become unwieldy. We have enough to worry about in life; don't let this be one of them.
If you want to keep me on for fic stuff, or frivolous spending stuff, or movie/Alias commentary stuff, or whatever, by all means stay. I plan to check up on my peeps occasionally. And maybe when I've quit my job and am sunning myself on the white sandy beaches of Maui, I'll be able to gorge myself on LJ. May that day be soon.
