sarea: (i feel a sin coming on)

I'm going home tomorrow. I can't believe my vacation is already over. :( And it's pouring rain on top of it all. Oh, and Jade is doing some transcription work (because of course it would come in on my last night). She thinks I'm working on my [livejournal.com profile] dearsanta fic, which I will be doing next, but right now I'm indulging in some celebrity news that makes me sad.

So here's me indulging in a totally shallow moment.

Generally I'm v. cynical about Hollywood marriages/relationships/what have you. I also don't much care about their personal lives (I wish entertainment magazines and tabloids and such just would not report on them). However, I must say that I am really saddened to hear about Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt separating. It's not a surprise after all these weeks of speculation about their marriage and the whole spawning thing, but still disappointing. Long-term relationships in general seem incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to sustain. And when considering a celebrity couple, the likelihood of 'forever' plummets even further, imho. But I dunno, I'd held out more hope for them -- maybe because they're one of the few celebrity couples that I liked. Individually, I enjoy them as actors and because they both seem like pretty decent people. And maybe, in a way, I wanted to believe that 'fairy tales' could happen in real life. I don't know how many times I have to be proven wrong before I let that go. :p

:/ They really did seem like maybe they'd manage to be the exception. Guess we'll have to stick with fiction to provide the happily ever afters.

I just logged on and checked the yahoo news, and I must say, I was a bit sad about it, too. I'm not a huge fan of either, but it seemed like they might just make it. Then again, he'd been quoted as making some odd comments for a man in love, so... anyway. It must be hard for anyone to end a marriage, and being in the spotlight as they are must be harder.

Am sorry your vacation is almost over! :-(

Splitting? I am very, very surprised too. :( Yup, they did seem like a decent couple.

I was sad to hear it, too. I was hopeful that they'd stick it out. Who knows? Maybe they will after all.

Don't give up on the fairy tale completely, though. Even Hollywood has its Paul Newmans and Joanne Woodwards. :)

I was really sad about it as well, I'm glad to know other people feel the same way. At least they haven't confirmed they are getting divorced you, just seperated, so there could still be hope!

I was so sad when I read that. I'm not a big fan of either one of them, but they were so cute together!

P.S. I wanted to leave you a note and see if you knew any good beta readers that have time on their hands. I'm trying my hand and fanfiction (finally) and I need a beta desperately. Thanks!

Hmm ... I don't know of anyone off hand, but I know that there's a board at Fiction Alley that specializes in that very thing! They hook up writers with beta readers, and I hear it's really helpful. Good luck!! : )

I know, I wanted Brad & Jen to last, they were like... Hollywood's "royal" couple in a way. Kinda like Britney & Justin were pop's royal couple.

Well at least you had a nice vacation. Coming back always sucks though. I feel like that every Sunday night because it means the weekend is over and school returns on Monday. :(

I'm adding you to my friends list cause I love reading your journal. :) If that's not okay, just ask me and I'll remove you. :)

LJ only just now decided to deliver this comment ... it's so weird sometimes. Anyway, I don't mind at all. I'm glad you gain some measure of entertainment from my daily foibles. <g>
